Summary of Role/Position Carparts.com is seeking a Data Scientist with expertise in AI engineering and machine learning development to help design, build, and deploy intelligent solutions that drive business growth. The ideal candidate combines strong foundations in statistical analysis, data mining, and experimental design with hands-on experience in developing and productionizing machine learning systems. This role requires someone who thrives at the intersection of data science and engineering, with a proven ability to turn algorithms into scalable, business-ready applications. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end ML solutions, from data ingestion to model training, evaluation, and production deployment. • Build and maintain scalable ML pipelines and APIs for real-time and batch inference. • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities where AI and ML can deliver business impact. • Experiment with advanced ML methods (e.g., NLP, predictive modeling) to improve pricing, personalization, and operational efficiency. • Apply solid coding skills, statistical methods, and deep learning techniques to transform ideas into data-driven products. • Create dashboards and monitoring systems to track model performance and ensure reliability in production. • Communicate complex analyses and AI-driven insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree with quantitative field and 2-3 years of data related professional experience • Strong background in machine learning, statistics, and algorithm development. • Hands-on experience with Python (pandas, numpy , scikit-learn, PyTorch , TensorFlow) or similar ML frameworks. • Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark). • Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining ML models in production environments (cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure preferred). • Strong software engineering practices, including version control, testing, and CI/CD for ML systems. • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to influence decision-making. • Results-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Preferred Experience • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or related quantitative field. • Experience with MLOps , model monitoring, and lifecycle management. • Knowledge of deep learning applications in NLP, computer vision, or recommender systems. • Experience with cloud computing and big data tools ( BigQuery , Databricks, Kubernetes, Airflow, etc.). • Prior experience in e-commerce or digital marketplaces.
