Role description
Overview Jaunty is seeking a Digital Marketing Director to lead our digital presence and drive consumer demand while supporting retailer sell-through across New York State. This role will design and execute a 90-day digital marketing plan, spanning social media, email/CRM, paid media, cannabis platforms, e-commerce, and online reputation management (ORM). The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in regulated industries, strong strategic and executional skills, and the ability to translate insights into measurable results. Reports To: SVP, Sales & Marketing Location: Hybrid, 6 days per month in-office required Responsibilities • Develop and manage a rolling 90-day digital marketing plan tied to product launches, promotions, and field activations. • Manage Jaunty’s e-commerce platform (merchandise and compliant product education), overseeing fulfillment logistics, customer communications, SEO/analytics, content updates, and reporting. • Plan, publish, and moderate all social media channels, ensuring compliance with age restrictions, brand safety, and platform rules. • Lead quarterly co-marketing campaigns with A-tier retailers across platforms including Weedmaps, Leafly, Dutchie, and Surfside, tracking ROI and proof-of-performance. • Execute paid media campaigns aligned with launches and promotions, managing budgets by product line and applying retail-media measurement standards. • Build and run segmented CRM/email programs (consumer and trade) with automation, testing, and performance tracking. • Oversee ORM by monitoring reviews, mentions, and sentiment, while developing positive content and maintaining a crisis management playbook. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Marketing teams to align priorities, assets, and execution. • Ensure all digital marketing activities comply with New York Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) rules and platform guidelines. • Develop and maintain analytics dashboards in partnership with Revenue Ops, establishing thresholds to adjust campaigns quickly. Key Requirements • 6+ years of experience leading digital marketing or growth marketing for a cannabis, regulated CPG, or retail brand. • Cannabis industry experience required. • Proven track record managing paid media programs with budgets of $300K+ annually, delivering ROI tied to retailer outcomes. • 2+ years managing social channels and building content briefs. • Hands-on experience with e-commerce operations, including SEO/SEM, CRM/email marketing, GA4, tag management, and UTM tracking. • Ability to build clean, repeatable reporting dashboards and measure success against OKRs. • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred • Experience supporting Joint Business Plans with retailers, including co-op or MDF programs. • Creative ability to brief or develop digital assets (static, video, email). • Familiarity with field marketing teams and the ability to translate store-level insights into digital strategy.
