Role description
Position Overview: This is more than merchandising—it’s about building a digital storefront that lives up to the precision and grit of our rifles.
The Digital Merchandising Manager is responsible for managing how our firearms, accessories, and gear are presented across our e-commerce channels from homepage and category curation to product page storytelling and full-scale product launches. You’ll also lead the product setup process, ensuring new items are properly configured, compliant, and ready for customers from data entry to go-live.
You’ll work at the intersection of product, creative, marketing, compliance, and operations to ensure our e-commerce experience is seamless, scalable, and optimized for results.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management & Setup
• Own the end-to-end process of adding new products to our site: entering specs, images, pricing, inventory, variant logic, and FFL requirements.
• Coordinate with product, operations, and compliance teams to ensure accurate and timely uploads for serialized and regulated products.
• Create and maintain a standardized process for e-commerce product launches, seasonal refreshes, and SKU changes.
• Set up collections, tags, filters, and merchandising logic to ensure customers can easily shop and discover the right product.
Merchandising & Optimization
• Curate and update homepages, collection pages, PDPs, and featured content based on campaigns, seasonality, and inventory.
• Ensure every product page reflects accurate specs, compelling messaging, high-quality media, and cross-sell opportunities.
• Collaborate with creative and copy teams to optimize product storytelling for performance and brand fit.
• Run regular audits to maintain accuracy and consistency across all digital touchpoints.
E-Commerce Strategy & Performance
• Use GA4, WooCommerce analytics, and customer behavior data to guide decisions on product placement, sorting, and experience improvements.
• Monitor funnel performance: product views, ATC, FFL flow, checkout completion, and optimize based on insights.
• Work with the DTC, email, and paid media teams to align merchandising with campaign priorities and traffic flows.
SEO
• Own and optimize on-site SEO strategy, including product descriptions, metadata, image alt tags, and internal linking to drive organic traffic and improve search rankings.
• Collaborate with marketing and content teams to implement keyword strategies and ensure all product listings and landing pages are optimized for both search visibility and user conversion.
• Analyze and report on SEO performance metrics (e.g., traffic, rankings, click-through rates), using insights to continuously improve product visibility and support revenue growth.
Qualifications & Skills
• 5+ years in digital merchandising, e-commerce management, or product content operations.
• Deep experience with WooCommerce and product setup workflows.
• Strong understanding of digital UX best practices for PDPs, category navigation, and FFL/serialized checkout flows.
• High attention to detail and ownership—nothing goes live unless it’s right.
• Familiarity with firearms compliance (ATF rules, FFL transfers, age verification, etc.) is a major plus.
• Comfortable using GA4, Hotjar, Klaviyo, and WooCommerce data to inform decisions.
• Bonus points if you have experience in regulated industries.
Key Accountabilities
This role will be directly responsible for driving and optimizing digital sales performance. Success will be measured by:
• Website Traffic – Increasing qualified traffic through SEO, digital merchandising, and campaign collaboration.
• Website Conversion Rate – Enhancing site experience and product presentation to turn visitors into buyers.
• Website Revenue – Driving sales growth through high-performing product pages, effective categorization, and conversion-optimized merchandising strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in the firearms, hunting, or outdoor industry.
• Knowledge of digital advertising regulations within the firearms industry.
• Strong copywriting skills for digital content creation.
Work Environment & Travel
• This position may be based at the company’s headquarters or remotely.
• Occasional travel may be required for industry events, trade shows, or retail partner engagements.
