Director, E-Commerce & Growth Marketing | Fast Growing Plant Based Vegan Food Start-Up | NYC (or Remote)
Harmonic are delighted to be working on a retained basis with one of the world’s fastest growing 'Better for You' snack brands. Having launched 5 years ago they are on track to achieve $20m in sales in 2025. This is being driven by incredible growth in the US market alongside international expansion in Europe.
The business has developed an incredibly strong brand centered around Health & Wellness which is particularly powerful with younger generations. The award winning ‘better for you’ snack sits at the intersection of ‘plant powered’, ‘indulgent’ and ‘high protein’ with some exciting flavors and expanding range of SKU's.
Starting life as heavily D2C e-commerce they are now stocked in stocked nationwide in Wholefoods, Target and Trader Joes in the US. They are in advanced discussions with other leading grocery stores including Walmart, Kroger, Thrive Market to name a few.

The Role:
The Director of E-Commerce & Growth Marketing will report to the Chief Marketing Officer with extensive exposure to the CEO/ Founder and be responsible for driving the growth and awareness of the brand across various channels, including retail, Amazon, and online.
This individual will play a critical role in accelerating customer acquisition, increasing engagement, and maximizing lifetime value through a variety of digital marketing and performance-based tactics.
As the Director of E-Commerce & Growth Marketing, you will work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer, leading online marketing efforts, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and work relentlessly to build a growth engine that aligns business goals.
Responsibilities:
• E-commerce Strategy & Growth: Develop and implement a comprehensive e-commerce strategy to drive sales, optimize conversion rates, and maximize lifetime customer value.
• Marketplace Management: Oversee and optimize our presence on Amazon, Walmart.com, Target.com, and Wholefoods.com, ensuring best-in-class content, promotions, and advertising effectiveness.
• Performance Marketing: Collaborate with the Marketing Director to execute and analyze performance marketing campaigns (Amazon Ads, Google Shopping, paid social, etc.) to enhance traffic, conversion, and retention.
• DTC Channel Optimization: Work with cross-functional teams to enhance our direct-to-consumer (DTC) website (shopify), improving UX/UI, checkout flow, and merchandising to drive engagement and repeat purchases.
• Data Analytics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key KPIs such as CAC, ROAS, LTV, conversion rates, and sales performance across all e-commerce channels, making data-backed recommendations.
• Customer Acquisition & Brand Building: Work with Marketing Director to build relationships with influencers expanding the brands presence across multiple platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook)
• Customer Experience & Retention: Improve customer journey touchpoints, including subscription models, loyalty programs, and CRM initiatives to increase engagement and retention.
• Inventory & Forecasting: Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to ensure inventory availability, demand planning, and efficient fulfillment for all e-commerce platforms.
• Competitive & Market Analysis: Stay ahead of e-commerce trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Skills and Experience:
Essential skills:
- Proven expertise in e-commerce and Amazon-specific sales channels
- Deep understanding of digital marketing channels, tools, and strategies—particularly performance marketing on platforms like TikTok, Meta, Amazon, and others.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make actionable recommendations.
- Experience with analytics tools like Google Analytics and e-commerce platform, shopify or similar.
- Experience with customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty strategies.
What we would like to see:
- Experience in a scaling food & beverage, CPG, Health & Wellness, Skincare or online retailer
- Experience managing online sales via major grocery stores (Walmart, Target, Trader Joes, Kroger, Wholefoods etc)
