We are seeking an accomplished IT Director to lead our e-commerce technology team in executing a multi-year omnichannel strategy aimed at growing our website revenue to over $1 billion. This pivotal role involves managing complex projects such as a headless migration, developing innovative B2B features, and leveraging commerce engines to deliver a seamless, customer-centric shopping experience across multiple channels. We’re hiring a Tech Lead to You’ll be the technical lead for one of three migration squads, partnering with Product and UX to improve navigation, usability, and the overall experience for both customers and associates (e.g., sales/branch staff). You’ll guide a modern React/Next.js front end backed by an API-first platform, coach full-stack & back-end engineers, and deliver incrementally using a strangler-fig approach—shipping headless pages behind feature flags while maintaining business continuity. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities Serve as a key leader in the execution of our comprehensive, multi-year omnichannel strategy. Drive growth of the website to over a billion dollars in annual revenue by aligning technology initiatives with business goals. Establish and oversee a technology roadmap that supports long-term growth and innovation Leverage product management operating models to efficiently develop, prioritize, and deliver features that meet strategic objectives. Lead the end-to-end execution of the headless migration, ensuring a seamless transition on a page-by-page basis. Oversee the development of new B2B features including an improved shopping experience, product listing pages, product detail pages, and AI-enabled search tools. Manage multiple concurrent initiatives related to platform modernization, feature development, and user experience enhancements Lead efforts to adopt and optimize headless commerce architecture and implement commerce engines such as Optimizely Commerce or similar platforms. Spearhead a page-by-page migration from a headful (server-rendered) site to a headless architecture on the Optimizely Commerce engine. Drive innovation through new technologies and integrations to enhance customer engagement and sales. Collaborate closely with the Director of Product Management, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align technology efforts with business priorities. Work jointly with marketing, sales, product, and other teams to ensure cohesive omnichannel experiences. Engage with external partners, vendors, and technology providers to leverage best practices and advanced solutions. Build, develop, and lead high-performing teams capable of executing complex, long-term initiatives. Partner with senior leadership to translate business vision into technical strategy. Manage budgets and resources efficiently to support strategic growth initiatives. Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success of migration, feature development, and revenue growth. Continuously analyze platform performance and customer feedback for ongoing optimization. Nature and Scope • Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. Solutions require analysis and investigation. • Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area. • May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level. Work Environment • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Education And Experience • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity. Preferred Qualifications • Prior success in scaling/operating e-commerce revenue to over $1 billion dollars. • Deep knowledge of B2B e-commerce, customer journey mapping, and omnichannel strategy, technology & deliverables.
