Responsibilities: Shoppable is looking for an experienced candidate to take Shoppable's technology and infrastructure to the next stage while also being an external-facing technical contact and solutions engineer when needed. This role requires hands-on coding approximately 80% of the time and managing Shoppable's infrastructure, scoping, technology budget, and product roadmap. You will also manage the other engineers day-to-day. You'll empower the team to achieve a high level of technical productivity and reliability as you drive larger initiatives and best practices across the entire engineering organization. You'll also collaborate with the other leaders at Shoppable. This role will work in partnership with the Customer Success, Sales, and Shopper Support teams and spend part of your days being on external calls with partners, prospects, and clients to work with their senior technology leaders and key stakeholders on technical questions and integrations with large-scale partners, retailers, and publishers. You should be a problem-solver and approach engineering challenges with enthusiasm, determination, and a solution-focused attitude. You should have experience building, supporting, and scaling e-commerce, SasS, and/or payments technology and a strong passion for product and engineering. The ideal candidate has been at a startup from the early days and built technology to scale through large integrations or has experience joining a team after the core technology was built and has experience helping the team to scale the technology, increase efficiencies, and implement processes and best practices. Requirements: • Undergraduate and/or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering • Experience architecting and developing heavily trafficked enterprise websites • 12+ years of hands-on coding experience • 2+ years of management experience managing engineers • Experience in framework development: Rails, NodeJs or equivalent • Solr, Elasticsearch, Mongo, or another document/NO SQL backend a plus • Dev Ops experience in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud (GCP) • Strong knowledge of containerization orchestration frameworks • Strong knowledge of Restful APIs • Strong knowledge of web application development • Hands-on, expert-level coding in multiple languages and web application frameworks • Experience in e-commerce and payment systems, bonus points if you’ve used Stripe • Code reviews and approving the code to push to production • Ensuring code quality • Exceptional communication skills, ability to talk to client technical teams and stakeholders while considering the impact on SAAS • Experience managing client technical expectations • Experience working with or at a large-scale technology company, e-commerce, SaaS or payments company preferred • Ability to wear multiple hats with excellent prioritization skills • Highly motivated and a team player • Excellent attention to detail Nice to have: • Devops experience using Docker • Understanding of PCI DSS • Familiar with the continuous development environment • Experience with retailer e-commerce platforms and affiliate network technology Compensation + Benefits: Salary + generous stock option plan, healthcare benefits, remote work, and unlimited vacation policy are among the benefits offered.
