Role description
Location: Los Angeles, CA (on-site with flexibility) About Sockerbit Since 2010, Sockerbit has brought the finest Swedish candy to the U.S. market. With a growing retail and e-commerce presence, a thriving wholesale business, and partnerships with major national retailers, we are scaling quickly and looking for an Operations Manager to help us run smarter, faster, and better. Role Overview The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations across our retail, e-commerce, and wholesale channels. This role is critical in ensuring smooth supply chain management, optimized inventory control, and strong cross-team collaboration to support our rapid growth. The right candidate will thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and have a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. Key Responsibilities • Retail & Store Operations: Oversee daily operations of our brick-and-mortar store(s), ensuring excellence in staffing, merchandising, and customer experience. • E-Commerce Fulfillment: Manage online order flow, shipping logistics, and inventory accuracy across Shopify and 3PL partners. • Wholesale & B2B Support: Coordinate with sales and distribution partners, ensuring on-time deliveries and account requirements are met (including Target, specialty retailers, and distributors). • Inventory & Supply Chain: Track stock levels across channels, manage vendor orders (factories, importers, packaging suppliers), and optimize purchasing to reduce stockouts and overstocks. • Process & Systems: Implement best practices, tools, and SOPs to improve operational efficiency as the company scales. • Team Leadership: Train, schedule, and support staff across retail and operations teams; foster a culture of accountability and excellence. • Compliance & Safety: Ensure operations meet food handling, safety, and regulatory requirements. • Data & Reporting: Monitor KPIs, prepare weekly/monthly operational reports, and present findings to leadership. • Growth Projects: Support product launches, new store openings, and expansion into new retail partnerships. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field. • 5+ years of operations experience, ideally within retail, CPG, or food & beverage. • Hands-on experience with inventory management, logistics, and vendor coordination. • Strong leadership skills with experience managing small-to-medium sized teams. • Proficiency in Shopify, inventory systems, ERP/CRM tools, and Excel/Google Sheets. • Proven ability to build systems, streamline processes, and scale operations in a fast-growing company. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Experience • Experience working with national retailers (Target, specialty grocery, or similar). • Knowledge of importing, freight forwarding, or global supply chain management. • Familiarity with food safety standards and compliance.
