The Role
We are seeking an experienced E-commerce Buyer to drive merchandising strategies and fuel growth for our client’s retail and online channels. In this pivotal role, you will develop multi-year business strategies, identify new product and category opportunities, and manage cross-functional efforts to enhance brand development, sales, and profitability across multiple departments. This is a hybrid role with a couple of days in the office per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership & Execution:
• Define short- and long-term strategic direction across multiple departments; align teams to execute business plans and pursue growth opportunities.
• Develop and implement category and tactical plans to capitalize on trends and ensure cohesive product collections
• Approve strategic initiatives, financial and purchase plans, assortment strategies, and product standards for the division.
• Lead cross-functional and divisional meetings, ensuring alignment across Product Development, eCom, Inventory, Marketing, Sourcing, and Visual Merchandising.
E-Commerce, Marketing & Merchandising:
• Collaborate with eCom and marketing to optimize website, Amazon marketplace presence, and social media strategies to drive growth and customer acquisition.
• Drive promotional and markdown strategies to maximize profitability.
• Present product concepts to executive leadership and seek collaborative feedback.
Market Awareness & Innovation:
• Monitor competitive landscape and global trends through regular market visits and international travel for product inspiration and production review.
• Participate in company-wide strategic initiatives and steering committees.
Team Leadership & Development:
• Manage, mentor, and develop direct report; define objectives, provide feedback, and evaluate performance.
• Lead succession planning, recruit and approve final candidates, and optimize team workflow and processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years in merchandise assortment development; vertical brand experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of people management experience with a proven ability to lead and inspire teams.
• Skilled in strategy development, OTB review, and team leadership.
• Strong systems proficiency and operational acumen; adept at balancing cross-functional priorities.
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments; eager to take on stretch projects and contribute meaningfully.
