About Rookwood
Founded in 1880, Rookwood is a heritage ceramics company rooted in craftsmanship, creativity, and community. Every piece that leaves the studio carries over a century of tradition, made by artists who value quality and innovation in equal measure.
Remote applicants will not be considered. This is an in-person role at our Cincinnati studio near Findlay Market in Over-the-Rhine, where working for a pottery company means hands-on, day-to-day interaction with the pieces we make—seeing and shaping them up close as part of your daily work.
Position Overview:
We’re hiring an E-Commerce Manager to lead the daily performance and execution of our Shopify site and retention marketing programs. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving the customer journey across web and email—merchandising products, launching collections, and supporting campaign execution.
You’ll partner closely with our marketing, creative, and retail teams to ensure the online storefront is well-stocked, on-brand, and conversion-ready. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable in Shopify and Klaviyo, and enjoys working across functions to improve the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Shopify Site Management
• Manage product uploads, navigation, homepage updates, and collection merchandising
• Support seasonal campaigns and product launches through timely and polished site execution
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues in Shopify; coordinate with developers for more complex updates
• Identify small UX improvements that support better conversion and customer experience
Email & SMS Automation
• Build and maintain core email and SMS flows in Klaviyo and Attentive, including welcome, win-back, and post-purchase journeys
• Partner with marketing to align messaging, products, and segments across campaigns
• Monitor flow performance and make data-driven updates to support retention goals
Reporting & Optimization
• Track core metrics like conversion, AOV, and repeat rate using Shopify, Klaviyo, and GA4
• Support A/B testing, landing page updates, and merchandising improvements
• Share performance takeaways with the broader team to inform planning and product mix
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work with creative teams on site assets, page layouts, and promotional elements.
• Coordinate with production planning and retail teams to ensure site inventory and timing align with store launches and stock levels.
• Support marketing and paid media campaigns, including Google, Meta, and other channels, by providing optimized collection pages, product merchandising, and campaign assets.
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience managing a Shopify storefront, ideally in a product-driven, high-volume brand with fast-selling product launches
• Experience with Shopify Plus, preferred
• Proficiency with Klaviyo and Attentive or similar email/SMS automation tools
• Familiarity with e-commerce KPIs and tools like GA4
• Comfortable building product pages, creating collections, and optimizing flows
• Collaborative, detail-oriented, and organized in managing timelines and launches
• Bonus: knowledge of HTML/CSS/Liquid or experience with page-building tools
What You’ll Bring
• Hands-on experience managing Shopify stores and retention programs, with a keen eye for detail and user experience.
• Comfort working across marketing, creative, and retail teams to execute campaigns and optimize the online journey.
• Curiosity and data-driven thinking to identify opportunities for improvement in site performance, merchandising, and customer engagement.
• Collaborative mindset, able to support paid media campaigns with product knowledge, creative input, and optimized assets.
• Passion for quality, craftsmanship, and brand storytelling, ensuring every customer touchpoint reflects the heritage and values of Rookwood.
