Crossing Hurdles is a recruitment firm. We refer top candidates to our partners working with the world’s leading AI research labs to help build and train cutting-edge AI models.
Position: Retail & E-Commerce Expert – AI Research Contributor
Type: Hourly Contract (Remote)
Compensation: $35–$65/hour
Location: Remote
Duration: ~20 hrs/week for 6 weeks
Requirements
• Strong professional experience in Retail or E-Commerce domains such as Retail Operations, E-Commerce Merchandising, Category Management, or Supply Chain Planning
• Graduate-level education in a related field is also acceptable
• Proficiency in key areas including demand forecasting, open-to-buy budgeting, GMV/revenue KPI analysis, and merchandising metrics
• Experience building retail assets such as inventory models, planograms, campaign ROI dashboards, or product-content libraries
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
• Access to a desktop or laptop computer (no Chromebooks)
• Ability to work independently and asynchronously on a flexible schedule
Role
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs such as sales forecasts, merchandising plans, and performance dashboards for accuracy and relevance
• Simulate real-world retail workflows like SKU replenishment, planogram resets, and ROI analysis
• Create high-quality reference materials including playbooks, content guidelines, and reporting templates
• Collaborate with Mercor coordinators and AI lab researchers to improve model performance and decision quality
