Role description
We are OMD, Cannes Lions 2024 Media Network of the Year, RECMA's Best-Performing Media Network Globally, and COMvergence's #1 Global Agency Network. As the world’s largest media network, with more than 12,000 people working in over 100 countries, we excel at making better decisions, faster. By combining innovation, creativity, empathy, and evidence, we help clients move faster, reach further, and take smarter risks in a world full of opportunities
We pride ourselves on being a people-obsessed, outcomes-focused business that applies evidence and data-based solutions, married with the practice of empathy, to drive performance and growth. When working with our clients, we put ourselves in the shoes of the consumer in order to see the world through their eyes. We focus on finding greater empathy with the consumer so as to uncover insights and opportunities that deliver more valued and valuable connections.
About The Role
We’re looking for a performance-led Senior Planner to oversee media strategy, planning, and optimization across four distinct fashion retail brands. This critical role sits at the intersection of growth, creativity, and precision, designed for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven retail environment.
As the strategic lead, you will be responsible for full-funnel media strategies that are closely tied to sales goals, promotional calendars, and real-time market dynamics. You’ll partner across brands and teams to ensure that every media dollar is accountable, agile, and aligned with performance outcomes. You will help determine larger partner engagements while continuing to bring new and innovative ideas to clients, remaining at the forefront of media.
Key Responsibilities
Media Strategy & Planning
• Accountable for overseeing the construction of performance-first media strategies tailored to each brand’s identity, anchored in product launches, offers, and seasonal calendars.
• Design media plans that drive sales and revenue across retail and digital touchpoints, using real-time data, audience segmentation, and behavioral insights to both refine partner selection and advise investment on execution tactics.
• Balance lower-funnel conversion-driving tactics with strategic use of upper-funnel channels to support brand growth and full-funnel effectiveness. Connecting the consumer journey through marketing funnels.
Performance Optimization & Forecasting
• Prioritize CTV, Digital Video, Digital Audio, Search, Social, and Affiliates, including feeds and dynamic creative, with a strong focus on ROAS, CPA, and conversion events.
• Champion agile optimization cycles, with seasonal, monthly, weekly, and sometimes daily pivots based on in-flight performance.
• Collaborate with each brand on forecasting, maintaining visibility into daily, seasonal, and annual revenue projections to inform media pacing and strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with analytics and investment teams to ensure accurate measurement, tracking, and attribution across the portfolio.
• Serve as a strategic media partner to brand marketing leads, ecommerce managers, creative teams, and merchandising to align messaging with consumer behavior and business goals.
• Manage agency relationships and guide campaign execution to ensure strategies are implemented flawlessly and efficiently.
Leadership & Innovation
• Lead portfolio-level media reviews and performance deep dives, surfacing insights and trends across brands.
• Advocate for a test-and-learn mindset with clear learning agendas and a culture of shared wins.
• Mentor junior planners and contribute to building best-in-class planning processes that scale across the organization.
Qualifications
• 12-15 years of experience in media planning or strategy, with a strong focus on performance media in the fashion or retail space.
• Proven experience driving sales, ROAS, and new customer acquisition through search, social, affiliate, and commerce media.
• Deep understanding of media's role in driving direct response during high-stakes moments (product drops, offer periods, peak season).
• Strong forecasting and budget management experience—confident in adjusting spend based on pacing and performance data.
• Knowledge of planning against both last click and incrementality.
• Hands-on familiarity with platforms like Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, affiliate networks, and commerce media tools (e.g., Criteo, Google Shopping).
Preferred Skills
• Adept in using attribution models, real-time dashboards, and data visualization tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker, Data Studio).
• Experience working within agile marketing organizations or squads.
• Knowledge of marketing tech and retail media measurement stacks.
• Ability to synthesize performance data into clear, actionable strategy updates for senior leadership.
• Strong record of working with both Analytics and Investment and managing both dynamic clients and teams.
