Freelance Performance Creative Producer

Baloo Living is a wellness brand known for premium weighted blankets that help people sleep deeper and feel calmer. We’re bootstrapped, profitable, and ready to scale—but great growth starts with great creative.
We’re looking for a freelance Performance Creative Producer who can own our ad-creative pipeline—from fresh concepts and hooks to rapid iteration based on real data. You won’t design every asset yourself, but you’ll steer the process, brief designers/UGC creators, and make quick edits in Canva or video-editing tools as needed. You’ll collaborate daily with our media buyer to understand what’s working and why, then launch the next round of tests.
While this job is remote, our founder is based in San Antonio, therefore would love to meet in person from time to time to collaborate!
What You’ll Do
Creative Strategy & Ideation
• Generate scroll-stopping angles, headlines, and storyboards for Meta, TikTok, YouTube & Pinterest
• Mine reviews, surveys, and competitor ads for insights & hooks
Briefing & Production
• Write concise creative briefs for designers, UGC creators, and motion editors
• Create quick static variations in Canva; trim/re-angle video assets in CapCut, Descript, or similar
Pipeline & Project Management
• Maintain an organized backlog, asset library, and testing calendar (Asana/Notion/Airtable—your choice)
• Ensure new creatives hit deadlines and brand guidelines
Performance Feedback Loop
• Meet with the media buyer weekly to review KPIs (CTR, CVR, MER, ROAS)
• Translate learnings into next-round iterations; retire under-performers fast
Reporting & Documentation
• Deliver a short weekly creative recap (wins, losses, learnings)
• Track tests in a shared dashboard for team visibility
Must-Haves
• 2+ years producing performance creative for a US-based DTC brand (wellness, beauty, or home goods a plus)
• Portfolio of ads that beat benchmarks on Meta, TikTok, or YouTube
• Strong grasp of direct-response storytelling and consumer psychology
• Proficiency with Canva for static assets and a modern video-editing tool (CapCut, Adobe, Descript, etc.)
• Comfortable reading ad dashboards and translating data into creative decisions
• Highly organized, deadline-reliable, and self-directed in a remote setting
• Familiarity with AI tools for creative assist (Runway, Midjourney, Opus Clip, etc.)
Nice-to-Haves
• Basic copywriting skills for headlines and hooks
• Experience sourcing or directing UGC/influencer content
• Familiarity with Shopify PDP best practices and Amazon creative standards
• Tradeshow or event asset production experience
Engagement Details
• Contract: 3-month trial, likely to extend
• Hours: ~10 hours per week, flexible but overlap with EST/CST business hours required
