Role description
Insight Global is seeking a Gift Shop Manager for a Catholic nonprofit organization in the Detroit area. The Gift Shop Manager will be required to work onsite from 9AM-5PM and must be available to work 5 days a week Tuesday- Sunday, alternating weekends. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds is required.
Main responsibilities include:
β’ Communicate with volunteers, employees and friars involved in the gift shop regarding gift shop inventory, processes and practices.
β’ Cultivate, train and schedule volunteers.
β’ Ensure that each guest receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, greeting, and acknowledging guests and have a good understanding of products available in the gift shop.
β’ Set up merchandising displays, prepare requisition for processing and replenishing merchandise, participate in receiving and monitoring the floor stock.
β’ Coordinate and execute yearly inventory audit.
β’ Work with Gift Shop Assistant to ensure online orders are filled correctly and efficiently
β’ Complete all sales and transactions maintaining proper cash accountabilities.
β’ Maintain operation records and prepare daily transaction records, including bank deposits.
β’ Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
β’ Obtain merchandise requested by customer or receive merchandise selected by customer.
β’ Prepare inventory of stock and order merchandise while developing vendor relationships.
β’ Reports to and collaborates with onsite leadership regarding all employee relations issues,
business decisions, and gift shop policies and initiatives for the physical store and online store.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
2+ years sales experience in a retail environment
Proven experience in retail management in a gift shop or boutique
Experience with inventory management and merchandising
Strong leadership and team management skills
Effective time management, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills with proficiency in POS systems and inventory management software
Ability to work flexible hours, including alternating weekends
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with Raiserβs Edge Software
Proficiency in e-commerce platforms
Compensation:
$20/hr to $24/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
