Role description
Head of Business Development Supply Chain – Retail/E-commerce Midlands Are you a hunter when it comes to business development? Do you have experience driving new business growth and profitability in the Retail and E-Commerce sector? Within this vacancy, you will be responsible for both direct selling and developing the growth of existing accounts (with account leads), both in the UK and internationally. Key Accountabilities: β€’ Prospect, hunt, and hone targets through to tender and business wins, to meet or exceed set targets β€’ Support the development of the sector growth strategy, identifying key segments and target customers to deliver the target growth β€’ Support the creation and evolution of the marketing plan, with the marketing team, with thoughts and ideas on initiatives and topics - social media plans, events, and industry bodies β€’ Attend and drive events for the Retail and E-Commerce sector to ensure good leads from the events and a return on investment β€’ Lead and drive effective tender responses, challenging solutions, IT, and costs appropriately to arrive at a solution and offer that meets the customer's needs, within accepted parameters β€’ To develop and maintain strong relations with Retail and E-Commerce customers to ensure the company is included in tenders and opportunities Summary of Capabilities/Competencies: β€’ Proven sales expert in the Retail and E-Commerce sector, 10+ years’ experience selling supply chain solutions in the forward/value add fulfilment and/or Reverse/Aftermarket Supply Chains. β€’ Demonstrable capability of selling the value and benefits of Circular Economy and Solutions that can meet our customers' sustainability targets β€’ Ability to lead effectively within a matrix structure where influencing is required at times rather than direct line management. β€’ Will be adaptable and able to employ a consultative style or a more directive approach as necessary. β€’ Confident, clear, and concise communicator at all levels, with strong and engaging presentation skills.
