ORGANISATION
Title : Head of Education and Events
Reports to: Retail Director
Job Location: Shiseido London Head Office
MISSION
The Head of Education and Events leads the UK&I Education and Events function to bring the unique DNA of each Shiseido UKI brand to life and drive sales ahead of the industry. This role reports directly into the Group Retail Director and partners closely with the National Field Sales Managers for NARS and Skin & Fragrance to support sales in-store through superior execution and experience, as well as online through retailer partnerships and content creation, working in close collaboration across all functions to determine and execute technologies and strategies that will secure a unique point of difference in the market place.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITITIES
• Develop, drive and oversee delivery of the Education and Events Strategy for Shiseido UKI Brands, with retail excellence and brand DNA alignment at the heart, in support of the Group and Retail Strategy and KPIs, as communicated by the Retail Director
• Lead and support the National Education & Events Managers and Trainers to deliver progressive and agile training strategies that meet national and retailer bespoke needs
• Develop training tools and event formats to be innovative, digitally lead and shared as best practice ensuring customer-centricity is at the heart
• Develop and create digital content for use within e commerce via close collaboration with Communications and Digital teams
Training & Development
• Work with key stakeholders (Marketing, Commercial and Communications and Digital Engagement) to identify and deliver opportunities within Education that are relevant to drive each brand’s DNA, focuses & strategies and leverages blended learning techniques and tools
• Deliver concepts that support and enhance the consumer 360 journey
• Be accountable for the evolution of Best In Class education practices, maintaining strong Brand Point Of Difference
• Gain insights from both within and outside of Industry to further drive to be Education Experts
• Partner with the National Field Sales Managers and lead National Education & Events Managers to deliver internal and external BC training conferences and learning touch points
• Ensure diversity and inclusivity throughout education materials and practises
Expertise, Services & Events
• Work with National Education & Events Managers to deliver disruptive and innovative activation strategies to support the launch calendar and retailer activity (store level and online)
• Lead and Inspire the teams, ensuring that content creation is unique to each brand and builds engagement through various/all touch points : experiential service at counter, disruptive content on social media, accessible via retailers online platforms, through events and specific customer groups
• Own launch and activation calendar for social content and in store activity ensuring brand and local relevance and all retail teams provided with assets to support
• Support with delivery of brand trainings and events as required
Digital development
• Drive brand national strategy through National Education & Events Managers to develop their teams to be brand influencers by providing tools to increase share of voice online
• Deliver a development curriculum for all field roles that directly benefits their job function and upskills teams to leverage digital tools for customers and in store teams
• Identify digital tools that will further enhance classroom and distance based learning and elevate the customer journey online and in store
• Support seamless omni-channel consumer journey through developing virtual understanding of the in-store teams
• Own education programme for brand advocacy platform to ensure delivery of quality, on brand content
Education and Events Management
• Find efficiencies within training programs across brands to improve team experience and strengthen Shiseido Group Best Place To Work goals for the in store teams
• Identify areas of cross brand opportunity for eventing and influencer activity, encouraging and facilitating partnership between the National Events & Education Managers where financially and strategically beneficial, with a One Shiseido mentality
• Ensure team are collaborating cross-departmentally and communicating education strategy to support brand plans within agreed timeframes and 12 weeks out
• Be Accountable for all training budgets, actively seeking efficiencies with a “Return on Investment” mindset, backing into Group & Brand priorities and maximising profitability
• Work closely with both National Field Sales Managers, recognising, evaluating and executing strategies to drive motivation and engagement
• Partner with Retail Director to develop and maintain highly effective relationships with Retailers’ training teams, seeking to gain influence, prioritisation for Shiseido UKI brands and negotiate beneficial rates, as well as seeking to better understand the consumer, leveraging consumer insights and adapting training accordingly
Skills And Experience
• A comprehensive understanding of the beauty industry across skincare, make-up and fragrances
• A proven track record of driving content creation, EMV, engagement and retailer recognition
• Experience of creating, driving and delivering strategic retail and events programmes at national level
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in premium cosmetics
• Proven experience in training content creation, including use of digital platforms and blended learning techniques
• Proven experience in analysing training needs to drive course curriculum planning and execution
• A strategic and commercially minded leader, with demonstrated ability to identify, analyse and communicate key elements of strategic vision and execution as well as an ability to develop, recommend and implement winning education and events strategies
• Creative and comfortable coming up with new ideas, with an appetite to take calculated risks and make things happen
