Role description
Role: Head of Growth
Location: London (Hybrid / On-Site)
Reports to: CEO
Salary: Competitive + performance-based bonus
OVERVIEW
The London Lions are seeking a strategic, data-driven, and creatively fluent Head of Growth to lead our direct-to-consumer revenue strategy across ticketing, merchandise, CRM, branded content, and audience development.
This is not a traditional marketing role — it’s about driving measurable growth through demand generation, funnel optimisation, audience building, and performance insight. You’ll sit at the intersection of content, commerce, and culture — turning basketball fandom into a revenue-generating engine.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
1\. Demand Generation
· Build and scale fan acquisition campaigns via paid social, influencer, and partner channels.
· Lead performance marketing for ticketing, merchandise, and digital content campaigns.
· Drive creative ideation and media planning with internal and external partners.
2\. Funnel Optimisation
· Design and optimise fan journeys across email, ads, website, and sales platforms.
· Increase conversion through A/B testing, remarketing, and lifecycle marketing strategies.
· Own the CRM stack — lead generation, segmentation, and retention.
3\. Audience Building
· Grow the Lions’ first-party data (email, SMS, audience insights).
· Expand owned channels like newsletter, TikTok, YouTube, and podcasting.
· Collaborate with the content lead to connect storytelling with acquisition and loyalty.
4\. Performance Measurement
· Build and manage dashboards to track CAC, LTV, ROAS, and content monetisation.
· Lead performance reviews and forecasting for senior leadership and the board.
· Provide analysis to drive better sponsor ROI and media packaging.
5\. Branded Content & Sponsorship
· Package and sell branded content assets to partners in collaboration with Head of Partnerships.
· Identify new content formats or media properties with commercial potential.
· Help create decks, pitches, and case studies that drive sponsor interest.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
· 5+ years in growth, performance, or digital marketing, preferably in sports, culture, or DTC.
· Proven track record in driving revenue through fan acquisition and content-led growth.
· Strong knowledge of paid media, email/CRM, analytics, and funnel optimisation tools.
· Creative thinker who understands sport and culture audiences.
· Excellent with data, growth experimentation, and campaign attribution.
· Commercial mindset — can contribute directly to partnership pitches and branded content strategy.
TOOLS & PLATFORMS YOU MAY USE
· Meta Ads / Google Ads / TikTok Ads
· Klaviyo / HubSpot / Mailchimp
· GA4, Mixpanel, Looker Studio
· Shopify, Eventim, or ticketing platforms
· Design tools, Notion, Figma, or similar collaboration tools
