Job Description To support the implementation of automated material handling equipment into our distribution centers. Typical equipment includes: conveyor, carton / tote sortation, unit picking, unit sortation, case shuttle storage systems. The automation engineering team supports our operations teams at our more automated distribution sites across multiple project phases: design, implementation, testing, go-live, and post go-live. Responsibilities • Provides equipment layout and function expert advice to our design and operations teams. • Calculates equipment rates and targeted performance • Supports equipment punch listing and rate testing • Supports warehouse control / execution system software design and test • Supports and educates the operations team on how to use the new equipment • Performs data analysis of equipment rates and errors • Supports the operations team to implement equipment maintenance agreements • Develops productivity estimates for processes that interface with material handling equipment Key Skills: • Prior experience implementing automated unit / case handling equipment • PLC equipment control • CAD for equipment layout • Excellent verbal and written communication • Project management • Warehouse control systems (WCS) • Warehouse management systems (WMS) • Barcoding • Data analysis using excel, access, SQL, power BI • MOST / MTM labor modeling • Great organizational skills • Experience with new distribution center start-ups Required Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, with particular emphasis on Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Facilities, and/or Maintenance Engineering required • 3-5 years of experience in distribution or manufacturing engineering, with particular emphasis on Ecommerce Fulfillment implementation projects or engineering management required • 1-2 years of project management experience for automated material handling equipment or building implementation required Our Organization has a business casual environment and focuses on teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement.
