Role Description
This is a contract-based, remote position for an International Tax Consultant at Fullridge Advisors. The role involves advising clients on international tax compliance, including cross-border tax obligations, permanent establishment risks, transfer pricing considerations, and foreign reporting requirements such as FATCA and FBAR. A strong emphasis will be placed on e-commerce businesses operating across multiple countries, helping them comply with VAT/GST regulations, digital service tax rules, and treaty benefits.
The consultant will also support global clients with year-end tax planning, international information return filings, and U.S. inbound/outbound structuring. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and adept at navigating the complex international tax landscape to ensure clients remain fully compliant while minimizing risk.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Advise clients on cross-border tax issues, including permanent establishment, withholding taxes, and treaty application
β’ Assist with international tax filings and disclosures, such as Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8938, FBAR, and FATCA
β’ Provide guidance on VAT/GST compliance and digital services tax for global e-commerce transactions
β’ Support international structuring and planning, including entity classification, transfer pricing basics, and intercompany transactions
β’ Conduct research on international tax laws and provide tailored recommendations
β’ Collaborate with clients and internal teams to address compliance challenges and opportunities
Qualifications
β’ Proven experience in international tax advisory or compliance
β’ In-depth knowledge of U.S. international tax rules and foreign tax regulations
β’ Familiarity with cross-border e-commerce tax considerations, including VAT/GST
β’ Experience with international reporting obligations (e.g., FBAR, FATCA, Forms 5471, 8865)
β’ Ability to interpret treaties and apply permanent establishment standards
β’ Strong research skills and the ability to translate complex rules into clear, actionable guidance
β’ Proficiency with tax research tools (e.g., CCH, Bloomberg Tax, or Thomson Reuters)
β’ Excellent communication and client-facing skills
β’ CPA, EA, or relevant international tax certification preferred
β’ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field; Masterβs in Tax is a plus
