Role description
Location: Remote – US strongly preferred
Hours: 10–20 hrs/week | Contract to start, potential to grow
Compensation: $35–50/hour depending on experience, or monthly retainer aligned to ~15–20 hours/week
🧭 The Role
We’re looking for a smart, systems-oriented legal ops consultant to help us build a clean, scalable, and sale-ready IP and brand protection infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone with U.S. legal experience who’s comfortable working across borders and can confidently lead global brand protection strategy while coordinating with local experts as needed.
You won’t be expected to handle international filings solo — but you will be the strategic lead for our trademarks, enforcement, and IP structure. If you’ve managed brand protection in ecommerce, especially for a company with international sales, this could be a great fit.
🧩 What You’ll Own
This is a project-based role with clear priorities — and potential to evolve into a long-term strategic relationship.
In the first 3–6 months, you’ll:
• Audit and organize our existing trademarks across core markets
• Oversee new filings and transfers (via local counsel where needed)
• Set up platform brand protection systems (Amazon, TikTok, Walmart, Meta)
• Define an enforcement process and manage takedowns
• Establish a clean, centralized IP documentation system
• Coordinate NDAs and contracts to protect IP in creator/freelancer relationships
• Build a scalable trademark decision process for future product launches
🚀 Why This Role Matters
We’re growing fast across multiple markets — with increasing visibility and rising risks of copycats and IP confusion. We’ve seen enough early traction to know it’s time to protect what we’ve built, both for peace of mind now and for long-term valuation. This role is core to that strategy.
✅ You Might Be a Fit If You…
• Have experience managing U.S. trademarks and are comfortable working across jurisdictions
• Have set up or managed Brand Registry on Amazon, TikTok, or similar platforms
• Understand ecommerce and the speed at which consumer brands need to act
• Are comfortable owning strategy, not just execution
• Know when to call in local experts — and how to keep them on track
• Are operationally minded — you don’t just file, you build structure
• Have worked in DTC, skincare, or consumer brands (a plus)
• Are a clear communicator, organized, and values-driven
🌍 Location & Time Zones
We’re open to candidates globally, but our preference is someone in the U.S. or with strong U.S. legal experience, who isn’t afraid of a cross-border structure (with entities in Switzerland and the U.S., and growing IP assets in multiple markets). Experience working across time zones and collaborating async is a must.

✍️ Screening Questions
1. You spot an Amazon seller using our product name and similar packaging, but with a slightly altered brand name. What steps would you take — both immediately and long-term — to address the situation?
1. We're preparing to launch a new product under a fresh name. What trademark and legal questions would you ask us before launch, and how would you assess if filing is needed?
1. You join and find our trademark documents scattered across folders, emails, and Notion pages. What system would you build to organize and maintain our IP so it's clean, trackable, and future-sale ready?
