Role description
About Veritel
Veritel's journey began with a temporary SMS product for privacy-focused users, which we've grown to a community of over 80,000. Now, we're expanding on that success to build our next product: intelligent SMS that sells.
Our platform acts like a real sales rep for Shopify stores, using live cart data and smart incentives to recover every possible dollar.
We value transparency, ship features in days, and give our engineers true product ownership, from UX to data pipelines. If you want a front-row seat to see how a company is built, from code to customers to revenue, you'll love it here.
We build:
A Shopify SMS agent that recovers carts with human-like conversations (cart-aware, discounts, short links, attribution).
B2C temporary numbers at global scale.
You’ll ship features used by real privacy-focused users.
Compensation: $800 USD per month
What you’ll own
• Knowledge Base –> Documents page (list/upload/download/delete) against our APIs.
• Attribution UI (click vs conversation).
• Conversations view (thread list, message pane).
• Onboarding wizard (brand voice, number setup stub, pricing/credits).
• Product polish (empty states, skeletons, toasts, error handling, tests)
Must-haves
• You’ve already shipped full-stack projects (links required).
• Strong TypeScript + React/Next.js, API integration (REST/GraphQL), and state management.
• Comfortable with Node/Express, basic SQL (Prisma/Postgres), and reading unfamiliar docs (Shopify, Twilio).
• You write clean, small PRs, and can debug without hand-holding.
Nice-to-haves
• Shopify App Development Experience
• Playwright/Cypress
• Redis queues
• LLM prompt/tool-calling experience
How we work
• Tickets with clear ACs; daily standup calls.
• Code review, ESLint/Prettier, CI on every PR.
• You’ll see the rest of the business (pricing, app-store growth, marketing, customer
• Remote-first (we’re open to candidates across time zones, though overlap with GMT hours is preferred).
Interview Process
We like to keep things simple and respectful of your time, no endless rounds here.
• Application Review - We’ll go through your CV and portfolio to see if there’s a good fit.
• Coding Test - A quick 45 minute test to understand technical competency.
• Intro Chat - If it looks promising, we’ll schedule a short Zoom call to get to know each other.
• Final Call - A longer conversation with our founder to dive deeper into your skills, experiences, and what you’re looking for. This is also your chance to ask anything about the company, the role, or the product.
• That’s it! Straightforward, transparent, and focused on making sure it’s a good match on both sides.
Diversity & Inclusion
We’re building a company where different voices, backgrounds, and perspectives aren’t just welcome, they’re essential. Great products come from teams that reflect the world around them, and we want Veritel to be that kind of place.
Bring your whole self. What matters to us is respect, curiosity, and passion for building things that matter.
If you’re excited about the role but don’t check every single box, apply anyway. The best people often don’t fit into neat lists.
