Position Overview
We’re seeking a Director of Marketing who can seamlessly move between high-level strategic vision and hands-on execution. This role requires equal parts creativity, adaptability, and resilience — with the ability to manage both long-term growth initiatives and the day-to-day marketing tasks that bring them to life. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, is looking for growth, loves the outdoors, and is excited about growing a purpose-driven brand.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and optimize multi-channel digital marketing campaigns to drive traffic, engagement, and sales (Google, Meta)
• Manage and grow our presence on social media (mainly Facebook and Instagram) through organic and paid strategies, including content creation, influencer partnerships, and ad campaign management.
• Analyze and report on campaign and channel performance, making data-driven decisions for optimization.
• Own the email marketing lifecycle using Klaviyo: audience growth and segmentation, campaign setup, automation flows, and reporting.
• Oversee day-to-day management and continuous improvement of burgeonoutdoor.com (Shopify based), including landing pages, product launches, and integrated marketing activities.
• Collaborate effectively with external vendors, contractors, and internal employees to coordinate and execute marketing initiatives aligned with business objectives and timelines.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• 3-5 years experience in marketing, direct-to-consumer or ecommerce brands preferred.
• Expert in Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager, with proven campaign results. TikTok and other social media channels are a bonus.
• Proficient in Klaviyo for email and SMS marketing: flows, campaigns, segmentation, A/B testing.
• Strong command of Shopify: store management, marketing integrations, and analytics.
• Solid grounding in marketing and retail math/terminology.
• Passion for the outdoors and alignment with Burgeon Outdoor’s mission.
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to craft compelling messaging.
• Creative, self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to thrive in a start-up pace.
• Proven ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and dynamic business needs.
• Develop and drive long-term strategic marketing plans while managing and executing day-to-day tactical initiatives.
Bonus Skills
• Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Affiliate/Influencer marketing program management.
• Tik Tok content creation and account management.
• Experience using SQL, Google BigQuery, or a similar program.
• Photography and/or videography.
