Role description
Summary / Objective We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Director to lead TYR Sport’s brand strategy and marketing initiatives. The Marketing Director is responsible for shaping the brand vision, developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns, and driving growth across all channels. This role will leverage athlete partnerships, digital innovation, and multi-channel storytelling to enhance brand visibility, build consumer engagement, and support sales objectives. Expectations are that the Director of Marketing will lead a cross-functional team, elevate TYR’s position as a leader in performance sports, and deliver results that align with company growth and profitability goals. Position Responsibilities and Accountabilities Brand & Strategy • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with TYR’s brand vision and growth objectives. • Protect and enhance TYR’s brand equity and reputation through consistent messaging, PR, and brand governance. • Leverage athlete partnerships, sponsorships, and events to create authentic storytelling and brand awareness. • Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to ensure TYR remains innovative and relevant. Campaigns & Content • Oversee integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, retail, PR, catalogs, POP, and event activations. • Partner with Creative Manager to produce compelling product, athlete, and lifestyle content for seasonal launches. • Drive consumer insights and market analysis to inform messaging, positioning, and creative execution. Digital & E-Commerce • Manage TYR’s digital marketing initiatives, including paid media, email marketing, SEO/SEM, and affiliate programs. • Partner with e-commerce teams to maximize online visibility, traffic, and conversion. • Utilize marketing automation tools and analytics to track performance and improve ROI. Cross-Functional Leadership • Collaborate with Sales, Product Development, Merchandising, and Operations to deliver cohesive go-to-market strategies. • Oversee internal communications to ensure alignment with corporate mission and marketing priorities. • Drive cross-category growth by aligning marketing strategies with retail, wholesale, and digital channels. Budget & Operations • Own the marketing budget; plan, allocate, and manage spend to maximize efficiency and ROI. • Lead agency and vendor relationships to ensure on-time, high-quality campaign delivery. • Track and report on key performance indicators, marketing effectiveness, and financial impact. Team Leadership • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team across multiple disciplines. • Foster a collaborative, creative, and results-driven culture. • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance management. Qualifications and Competencies • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage and inspire high-performing teams. • Expertise in integrated marketing campaigns across digital, retail, and experiential channels. • Proven success leveraging athlete, sponsorship, and event partnerships. • Strong digital marketing and e-commerce growth experience. • Excellent presentation, communication, and storytelling skills. • Highly analytical with experience in budget management and ROI measurement. • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance brand building and performance marketing. • High energy, creativity, and passion for sport and performance culture. Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (required). • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role. • Experience in sports, activewear, lifestyle, or consumer product industries preferred. • Demonstrated success in managing budgets, cross-functional initiatives, and agency/vendor relationships.
