Role description
About Photogram
Photogram is building the future of content creation. We are developing a novel camera that attaches to your smartphone, combining the quality of a professional mirrorless camera with the power of computational photography and AI. Our mission is to empower a new generation of creators with tools that are more powerful, portable, and connected. We are a venture-backed startup entering a pivotal growth phase, and we're looking for a passionate leader to help us scale.
The Opportunity
Over the last 12 months we've generated a waitlist of 20,000 people and we've got international recognition for our product by journalists and creators. This creates a unique opportunity for an experienced and entrepreneurial marketing leader to step in and take ownership of our entire go-to-market engine.
You will be instrumental in our transition from a pre-order product to an in-stock, direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand, culminating in the highly anticipated launch of new products in 2025 and 2026. Your core mission will be to professionalise and scale our marketing process, manage our community's expectations with transparency, and build a repeatable sales engine. You will be doing the heavy lifting, acting as a voice of Photogram to our community, and building the marketing function from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
• Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy & Execution: Own and execute the comprehensive GTM strategy for product releases in 2025 and 2026. This includes everything from pre-launch hype and demand generation to post-launch sales and retention.
• Sales & E-commerce Management: Manage our end-to-end pre-order sales funnel. Develop and implement strategies to convert interest into paid pre-orders, with a clear focus on hitting our North Star Metric.
• Build a Repeatable Sales Process: Analyse our current sales data and customer journey to identify friction points and opportunities. Systemise our marketing and sales activities to ensure they are repeatable, scalable, and efficient.
• Content & Campaign Creation: Develop and manage compelling marketing campaigns across all channels to drive brand awareness and sales. This includes working with creators, generating social media content, writing email newsletters, and updating our website.
• Performance & Analytics: Track, analyse, and report on key metrics (pre-orders, conversion rates, CAC, community engagement). Use data to inform strategy and demonstrate progress towards our long-term North Star Metric.
• Community Management & Communications: Be a point of contact for our community across social media, email, and other platforms. You will manage customer expectations around our pre-order and delivery schedule (30-60 day window), communicating updates with clarity, empathy, and transparency.
Who You Are: Our Ideal Candidate
• Proven D2C Operator: You have a demonstrable track record of successfully bringing a physical consumer product to market, having overseen the shipment of at least 5,000 - 10,000 units.
• Community-Obsessed: You have hands-on experience building, nurturing, and managing a vibrant online community (e.g., for a brand, as a creator, or for your own e-commerce store). You understand how to build trust and advocacy.
• E-commerce Experience: You have direct experience managing a D2C e-commerce store (e.g., Shopify) or brand. You are comfortable with the entire customer lifecycle, from acquisition to fulfilment and support.
• Startup Mentality: You are a proactive "doer" who thrives in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment. You are comfortable with ambiguity and are skilled at wearing multiple hats.
• Exceptional Communicator: You have outstanding written and verbal communication skills. You can write compelling copy, handle difficult customer conversations, and represent the brand professionally.
• A Passion for the Space (Bonus): A genuine interest in photography, videography, or the creator economy would be a significant advantage.
What We Offer
• A competitive salary starting at £50,000 per annum.
• Meaningful equity options in a high-growth, venture-backed startup.
• A high-impact role with significant autonomy and the opportunity to build our marketing function from the ground up.
• A front-row seat to launching an innovative hardware product and scaling a global brand.
• A flexible and dynamic work environment.
If you are a builder who is excited to take on a challenge and make a tangible impact on the future of content creation, we would love to hear from you.
