Role description
To lead, execute and optimise marketing for a consumer product company based in London. You will be responsible for driving brand awareness, customer acquisition and sales. You’ll own the full marketing mix: strategy through execution. Particular emphasis on building, automating and refining direct email marketing campaigns, managing social media channels & content creation, plus coordinating cross-channel efforts. Key Accountabilities: Strategy & Planning • Develop annual & quarterly marketing plans aligned with company goals (revenue, growth, sustainability, brand positioning). • Identify target audiences (consumer & business), define messaging, journey maps and customer segments. • Set KPIs & metrics for all marketing activities; report regularly to leadership. Email Marketing /CRM • Manage the email marketing program end-to-end: planning, copywriting, design, sending, segmentation, scheduling. • Build and maintain customer journey flows (e.g. welcome series, cart abandonment, post-purchase, re-engagement). • Use data & A/B testing to improve open rates, click-throughs, conversion & retention. • Oversee subscriber acquisition (pop-ups, website, offline if applicable), list hygiene and compliance (GDPR). • Work with CRM / ESP tools (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, etc.) to ensure automation & efficiency. Social Media & Content • Develop & maintain social media strategy (platform strategy, content calendar, tone of voice) across channels (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, possibly TikTok / YouTube). • Create (or brief/coordinate) content: posts, stories/reels, visuals/graphics, video, UGC, influencer content. • Monitor trends; adapt for seasonal / topical content (e.g. sustainability days, product launches). • Community management: respond to comments / messages; engage followers; build brand loyalty. • Collaborate with creative resources (in house / agency / freelancers) to produce high quality visuals & copy. Cross-Channel & Integrated Marketing • Coordinate with paid advertising (social ads, search ads), SEO, content-marketing (blog, guides), PR / media, affiliates, partnerships. • Ensure consistent messaging & branding across all channels. • Drive campaigns for product launches, bundles, offers, seasonal promotions. Analytics, Budget & Tools • Monitor, analyse and report performance of campaigns: email metrics, social metrics, website / e-commerce analytics. • Use insights to refine strategy & optimise spend. • Manage marketing budget; allocate spend across channels; ensure good ROI. • Stay up-to-date with marketing tools / platforms, industry benchmarks, competitor activity. Brand Sustainability & Values • Ensure brand values are central to all marketing content & communication. • Work with the team to communicate sustainability credentials, certifications, supply chain / packaging / ingredient transparency. • Support content re: awards, accreditations, press / partnerships. The right candidate will have: • Prior marketing experience in the consumer goods sector. • Proven experience with email marketing / CRM platforms (segmentation, automation, metrics). • Strong social media experience: content creation, strategy, community management. • Excellent copywriting skills; creative thinker; able to craft content that converts but aligns with brand values. • Excellent copywriting skills; creative thinker; able to craft content that converts but aligns with brand values. • Knowledge of GDPR and best practices for email / data. This is a standalone role based in London and represents a real opportunity to build out processes from scratch. Salary up to £50k per annum depending on experience.
