Job Description Marketing Specialist Onsite/Richmond, VA About The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven Marketing Specialist to lead campaign strategy and execution across email and SMS marketing for both Retail (DTC) and Wholesale (B2B) ecommerce platforms. This role plays a key part in planning and delivering marketing strategies that drive sales, increase customer retention, and support brand growth across the full marketing ecosystem. This position demands both precision in execution and a sharp strategic mindset, with a strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration, proactive planning, and attention to detail. You’ll contribute to the full campaign lifecycle—from ideation and briefing to deployment and performance analysis—assuring every initiative aligns with brand priorities and is executed seamlessly. You’ll work closely with Creative, Merchandising, Analytics, and Paid Media teams to help shape and deliver campaigns that are on-brand, on-time, and revenue-driven. What You’ll Do • Oversee all aspects of email and SMS marketing—including revenue management, segmentation, automation, A/B testing, campaign planning, and performance analysis • Lead weekly, monthly, and annual campaign planning processes, ensuring consistent and timely execution across the marketing calendar • Strategize and deliver campaigns that align with brand briefs, product launches, and key promotions across both Retail and Wholesale channels • Own the copy direction for campaign briefs to ensure messaging reflects brand voice, campaign goals, and audience segmentation • Write compelling copy for email and SMS campaigns, including subject lines, headlines, CTAs, and product messaging • Own content planning by audience segment and campaign type, maintaining cohesive and conversion-driven messaging • Manage automated flow messaging across the customer journey (welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, win-back, etc.) • Work closely with CRM partners to enhance personalization, retention, and loyalty strategies through behavioral and transactional data • Track KPIs (open rate, CTR, CVR, unsubscribe rate, revenue per send, etc.) to evaluate and improve campaign performance • Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, creative, offers, segmentation, and timing to optimize results • Forecast, measure, and report on campaign and flow performance in weekly marketing and monthly finance reviews • Maintain and evolve reporting dashboards to deliver actionable insights Who You Are • 2-3+ years of experience in CRM/email/SMS marketing for eCommerce (experience across DTC and B2B preferred) • Experienced in Klaviyo, Attentive, and Shopify platforms with the ability to leverage their full potential • Strong copywriting and messaging skills, with the ability to distill ideas into clear, engaging, and conversion-focused content • Proven ability to drive conversion, engagement, and revenue growth through thoughtful email and SMS strategies • Deep understanding of lifecycle marketing, personalization tactics, and audience segmentation • Strong analytical skills, with experience in A/B testing, reporting, and performance tracking • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to balance creative development and performance-driven execution • Passionate about cross-functional collaboration and delivering best-in-class brand experiences • Strategic, self-starter mindset with an eye for innovation and continuous improvement • Sharp attention to detail, with the ability to catch inconsistencies and elevate content quality • Demonstrates emotional resilience and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, deadlines, and cross-functional inputs in a fast-paced environment
