Role description
Our client, a large e-commerce firm is seeking a Merchandising Category Coordinator for Weddings, Kids & Baby and Pets to join their team for a 3 month contract.
About the Position
The Category Specialist is a foundational member of the Merchandising team. You’ll work closely with a Senior Category Manager to bring category strategies to life—executing everything from curated landing pages to scaled, dynamic content across surfaces. You’ll help manage day-to-day merchandising operations, using a variety of tools to ensure inventory shows up in inspiring and relevant ways for our buyers.
Responsibilities
• Execute merchandising experiences across the spectrum—from high-touch curated landings to scaled, algotorial collections that power personalized discovery.
• Use a variety of internal systems and CMS tools (including Contentful) to build and update content across our marketplace surfaces.
• Support site programming and channel curation by identifying standout listings, emerging trends, and seasonal themes.
• Contribute to category-level storytelling through stash augmentation, seller spotlights, and seasonal campaign support.
• Maintain and update category dashboards, assist with reporting, and help track the performance of merchandising tactics.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Brand, Product, and Seller Marketing to support category execution needs.
• Participate in tests and experiments to evaluate the impact of merchandising content, with a focus on learning and scaling what works.
• Adapt to new and evolving merchandising tools that power our increasingly dynamic and personalized buyer experiences.
• Jump in to support broader Merchandising team initiatives as needed—with room to grow your impact over time.
About You
• 2-4 years of experience in merchandising, ecommerce, content operations, marketing, or a related field.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects with shifting timelines.
• Curious and visually driven—you care about what makes great content and product presentation.
• Comfortable learning new tools and systems quickly; familiarity with CMS platforms like Contentful, Airtable, or similar is a plus.
• A strong communicator and team player who’s proactive, collaborative, and open to feedback.
• Excited to contribute to personalized, buyer-centric commerce experiences on a large scale.
• Enthusiastic about our mission to keep commerce human and help creative entrepreneurs succeed.
