Role description
A national women's fashion organization is seeking a talented and passionate Merchandise Planner for Tops and Bottoms. Fast paced, fun culture with a resurgence in the market place. This is a remote position reporting into the VP of Planning. Apparel experience is a must, high sku complexity with a large fleet and ecommerce business.
Requirements:
β’ 2+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, demand planning, allocation, or a related financial/analytical retail role
β’ Strong forecasting skills and a deep understanding of retail math and inventory KPIs
β’ Confidence using planning tools, allocation software, and Excel to turn data into action
β’ A strategic mindset with the ability to zoom in on details and zoom out on long-term planning
β’ Clear, concise communication skills and the ability to partner cross-functionally across Buying, Planning, Allocation, and Stores
β’ Resourceful and solution-orientedβable to problem-solve with limited information while using data to guide decisions
β’ A degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
Must be able to:
β’ Category & Location Strategy: Partner with Buyers, Allocators, and the Planning team to build category-level plans that drive sales, profitability, and inventory productivity across our store footprint.
β’ In-Season & Pre-Season Forecasting: Translate trends and performance into action by creating data-driven plans and reforecasts that inform buys, drive allocation strategies, and optimize markdowns.
β’ Assortment Planning: Develop attribute-based assortment plans by store volume group, helping ensure the right product mix is delivered to each location.
β’ Performance Reporting: Deliver weekly business recaps, ad hoc analysis, and reporting on bestsellers, underperformers, and aged inventory to guide key business decisions.
β’ New Store Planning: Partner on new store openings to ensure appropriate inventory levels and category representation from day one.
β’ Promotion & Markdown Strategy: Analyze promotional performance and influence future event planning and inventory strategies to drive margin and sell-through.
β’ Store Support: Act as the go-to partner for boutique leaders on merchandise-related questions, inventory issues, and business opportunities.
