Role description
About The Role: OluKai, a rapidly growing brand rooted in island culture and lifestyle, is looking for an experienced UX Designer to join our creative team in Irvine, CA. This role is critical in optimizing and evolving our digital ecommerce shopping experience using best-in-class UX practices grounded in testing, iteration, and user insights. As a UX Designer, you’ll partner with cross-functional teams to design, test, and rapidly iterate new features across our website and mobile platforms. You’ll balance customer needs with business goals to drive frictionless shopping experiences that convert. Your strong eye for design also makes you a valuable contributor in the creation of digital assets such as banners, landing pages, and campaign visuals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: β€’ Own the end-to-end UX process from concept through execution, delivering user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. β€’ Research and apply ecommerce UX best practices to improve discoverability, conversion, navigation, and overall customer satisfaction. β€’ Rapidly test and iterate on new UX ideas by applying usability studies, A/B testing, and tools like heatmaps or analytics. β€’ Collaborate closely with Creative, Ecommerce, and Digital Product teams to introduce new features and improve existing flows. β€’ Understand the limitations and capabilities of the Shopify theme ecosystem to design effective, scalable interfaces. β€’ Create digital assets for the site, including homepage banners, landing pages, and visual elements when needed. β€’ Maintain and help evolve our UX design system to ensure consistency and usability across all digital products. β€’ Monitor performance and collect user feedback to translate insights into actionable design improvements. β€’ Stay current with industry trends and emerging tools to bring innovative ideas to the team. β€’ Responsible for ensuring all aspects of the ecommerce user journey is consistent to brand standards and modern best practices for navigation, animation/hover states, readability. Qualifications, Skills, Experience: β€’ 5-7 years of UX experience with a strong emphasis web design. β€’ Portfolio that includes UX work for ecommerce experiences β€” wireframes, user flows, and final designs. β€’ Solid grasp of responsive design principles and mobile-first UX design. β€’ Strong to expert proficiency in Figma β€’ Proven ability to run UX tests (e.g., A/B testing, heatmaps, user interviews) and quickly apply findings to iterate and optimize. β€’ Experience creating production-ready digital assets (banners, page layouts, product visuals). β€’ Strong visual design foundation, with a good sense of color theory, layout, and typography. β€’ Organized, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, test-and-learn environment. Additional Preferred Qualifications: β€’ Understanding of Shopify UX and theme development. β€’ Experience with HTML5, CSS & JavaScript experience β€’ Experience with Analyzing heat map tools (Microsoft Clarity). β€’ Experience in testing responsive web design, and cross-browser testing. β€’ Proficient in Agile Methodologies, experience with Asana is a Plus. Compensation: The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus; salary is based on the experience that you bring to the position.
