Role: Operations Director
Location: Leeds, Perivale & Bardon, (regular travel is required to all 3 locations)
Salary: £110K - £120K, DOE, plus extensive benefits
Contract type: Permanent
Employment type: Full time
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week. Mon-Fri operating within core hours. (Some flexibility may be required for out of hours or weekend working on occasion)

We're looking for a dedicated and people-focused Operations Director to lead our direct-to-customer fulfilment centres in Bardon, Leeds, and Perivale. You'll work cross-functionally to ensure smooth, reliable operations that put patients and customers first. This role is all about driving operational excellence and building a high-performing team culture where individuals are empowered to take initiative, grow their skills, and embrace continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing?
• Build and lead the operational team across our fulfilment centers, fostering a culture of high performance, trust, and continuous learning
• Lead the development and the execution of the operational strategy, while engaging and guiding the operations team throughout the journey
• Drive world-class performance across key operational KPIs, including operating cost, customer lead time, and order accuracy setting high expectations and holding the team to the highest standards
• Champion business continuity planning, ensuring robust operational resilience and the ability to respond effectively to change or disruption
• Drive world-class performance across key operational KPIs, including operating cost, customer lead time, and order accuracy setting high expectations and holding the team to the highest standards
• Drive the automation strategy and continuous improvement initiatives across fulfilment sites, identifying opportunities to optimise systems and reduce costs
• Manage relationships with our operations third-party partners, including our automation partner, to ensure seamless integration and performance delivery
• Lead the planning of scalable and resilient fulfilment operations to meet the growing demand of both NHS patients and private customers
• Partner with peers in tech, product, finance and commercial to ensure operations are effectively supported in delivering scalable and aligned solutions
• Champion clinical governance and regulatory compliance in all operational processes
• Champion business continuity planning, ensuring robust operational resilience and the ability to respond effectively to change or disruption
• Champion frontline and customer perspectives to ensure SLT decisions are grounded in real-world operational impact
Who are we looking for?
• A proven operations leader with deep knowledge of e-commerce logistics, especially in pick-pack-ship environments.
• Technically sound and forward-thinking, with a deep understanding of warehouse automation and technology integration
• Commercially minded with a proven track record of managing budgets and making data-driven decisions
• Proven leadership experience in e-commerce, retail, or consumer healthcare operations
• Demonstrated success in scaling operational teams and distribution networks
• End-to-end understanding of the supply chain, including import processes and automation
• Experience partnering with teams such as technology and product to drive operational excellence in fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environments
• P&L ownership with a track record of delivering commercial success
• Experience or a strong understanding of the parcels and delivery industry is highly beneficial, particularly regarding final-mile logistics and service standard
• A strong, people-first leader with experience in building empowered, high-performing teams
