Addison Group is working with ann upscale retail organization in search for a Principal SRE / DevOps Engineer who is passionate about finding ways to optimize availability/performance. This person should understand the overall ecommerce architecture and identify opportunities to optimize. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working in an AWS environment, using Akamai CDM, improving observability capabilities using Splunk, and managing Jenkins pipelines. This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity – hybrid onsite in the Bay Area. Responsibilities: • Ensure high availability and performance of systems; proactively identify and fix issues. • Lead efforts to design and implement solutions that reduce downtime and speed up recovery. • Optimize eCommerce architecture for reliability and scalability. • Automate deployments, monitoring, and incident response workflows. • Act as SME for SRE/DevOps practices including: • CloudFormation • Auto Scaling Groups • CI/CD (Jenkins) • Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) • Configuration Management • Improve observability and alerting systems. • Review and enhance system architecture and performance. • Maintain technical documentation and CI/CD pipelines. Technical Skills: • Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, CloudFormation, Auto Scaling • Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk • CI/CD & Automation: Jenkins, scripting, deployment pipelines • DevOps Tools: Git, build tools, config management • Security & Performance: Akamai, system profiling, troubleshooting Qualifications: • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience • 4+ years supporting distributed, high-traffic systems (e.g., eCommerce) • Strong problem-solving in complex architectures • Excellent communication and collaboration skills Featured Benefits: • Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k)
