About Forge Holiday Group
Forge Holiday Group unites four leading brands – Sykes Holiday Cottages, Forest Holidays, UKCaravans4Hire, and Bachcare (NZ) – under one mission: to make it easier and more rewarding for people to enjoy unforgettable holidays.
With a team of 1,700 colleagues and four values at our heart – One Business, Keep It Simple, Grow & Learn, Sustainable Impact – we’re shaping the future of travel while building a sustainable, values-driven business for our guests, owners, and people.
The Role
We’re looking for an exceptional Product Director to help shape and deliver the future of holidays. This is a senior leadership role with high visibility and impact, responsible for turning strategy into execution, empowering product teams, and delivering meaningful outcomes for guests, owners, and the business.
You’ll lead a high performing group of heads of product to help us build a better experience for our guests, owners and to support our ambitious plans around our platform & AI, ensuring each team is focused, empowered, and delivering against clear priorities.
As a trusted partner to the Chief Product Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering the product vision, scaling our operating model, and building a modern, outcome-driven product organisation that’s set up to win.
What You’ll Do
• Lead product execution across the group, ensuring teams are solving the right problems in the right way.
• Coach and develop Heads of Product and Product Managers, setting high standards for discovery, delivery, and communication.
• Champion a modern product operating model with best practices in planning, prioritisation, estimation, research, KPIs, outcomes, and AI readiness.
• Translate strategic intent into action, connecting group-wide goals to domain-level objectives and roadmaps.
• Strengthen cross-functional alignment with peers in engineering, design, operations, customer support, and marketing.
• Bring momentum and energy, galvanising teams around shared goals and removing blockers.
• Foster a culture of transparent, inclusive discovery that connects innovation to commercial outcomes.
• Model outstanding product leadership behaviours: thoughtful listening, strategic clarity, and decisive execution.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
• Proven experience as a Director or VP of Product, delivering results in complex, cross-functional environments.
• Strong background as a hands-on PM, with the ability to credibly coach and mentor others.
• Practical, modern understanding of discovery, agile delivery, stakeholder management, and measurement.
• High EQ, low ego: an empathetic communicator who rallies teams around shared purpose.
• Experience in consumer platforms or two-sided marketplaces (travel, hospitality, fintech, e-commerce).
• Ability to bring clarity and structure in times of ambiguity or change.
• Experience building or scaling domain-led teams, with awareness of how UX, data, and AI shape modern product work.
• Commitment to continuous improvement – raising the bar and giving/receiving feedback well.
About You
You will take ownership and follow through. You bring energy, positivity, and a bias for action. You’re a starter-finisher who sets high standards, communicates with clarity, and lifts others up. You thrive on collaboration and shared success – and take pride in doing things well.
What We Offer
• Annual bonus scheme linked to company performance.
• 33 days’ holiday (including bank holidays), plus up to 5 extra with long service.
• Birthday day off + 2 volunteering days per year.
• Enhanced parental leave (24 weeks maternity, 3 weeks paternity at full pay).
• Discounts on stays with our brands + wellbeing offers.
• Health cash plan & life assurance.
• Training & development opportunities.
• 24/7 mental health support.
• On-site gym and parking at Chester HQ (close to the train station).
• Employee savings scheme + long service awards.
Inclusion & Belonging
We’re at our best when everyone can bring their authentic self to work. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences, recognising the power of diverse perspectives. If you need adjustments during the recruitment process, our team will be happy to help.
