Role description
Product Manager - Contract / Remote - 6-12mth+
My client are currently integrating into their parent company while scaling a high-performing global eCommerce business - as a result they are looking for a Senior Product Manager who can lead with clarity, urgency, and ownership.
Role / Responsibilities:
• Own the Product Lifecycle: Define and deliver product enhancements across Magento-based eCommerce experiences—prioritizing initiatives that unlock value for customers and the business.
• Drive Cross-Functional Rhythm: Maintain steady momentum across Tech, Business, and Data teams—ensuring alignment, flow, and timely decisions.
• Champion Problem Solving: Tackle blockers head-on. Help teams get unstuck. Keep pushing for progress even when the path isn’t fully clear.
• Balance Scale & Transition: Support both the day-to-day operation of our eCommerce stack and its longer-term integration with the parent company’s systems.
• Metrics-First Thinking: Define success through clear KPIs—conversion, AOV, searchability, fulfillment, etc.—and use them to guide and evaluate your roadmap.
• Get Hands-On with Magento & Integrations: Work directly with Magento workflows, legacy systems, and 3PL integrations—diagnosing issues and pushing for improvements.
• Context Switching Without Friction: Be comfortable jumping from backlog grooming to stakeholder alignment to tech scoping—sometimes all in the same hour.
• Bridge Product and Program Management: Set vision and strategy and get into the details—tickets, dependencies, and delivery plans.
Experience:
• 5+ years in product management, ideally in a high-velocity eCommerce or omnichannel environment.
• Magento experience is a must—comfortable navigating both front-end and backend workflows.
• Proven ability to build strong cross-functional rhythms across engineering, business, data, and operations.
• A natural problem-solver who takes ownership, thrives in ambiguity, and doesn't need a rigid structure to add value.
• Fast context switcher—you can juggle multiple priorities without losing clarity or momentum.
• Highly analytical with a passion for metrics and data-driven decisions.
• Experience working with or cleaning up legacy platforms and tech debt.
• Strong communicator who aligns stakeholders without over-relying on process.
Technical Skills:
• Magento – Strong hands-on experience with Magento platform and custom workflows.
• Reporting Tools – Familiarity with analytics dashboards, reporting suites, and data visualization tools (e.g., GA, Looker, Power BI).
• Algolia – Experience with search configuration, tuning, and performance optimization using Algolia.
• Search Engine / AI Optimization – Understanding of SEO principles and AI-driven recommendations for improving discoverability and performance.
• eCommerce Platform Expertise – Deep understanding of end-to-end eCommerce architecture, operations, and integrations.
