Job Description
As a Product Manager B2C for our Security Business Unit, you will contribute to the long-term success of your assigned product lines by supporting product development, commercialization, and lifecycle management efforts. Working closely with cross-functional partners, you’ll help bring products to market that align with customer needs, manufacturing capabilities, and business goals.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys translating insights into action, collaborating across teams, and managing the details that keep projects moving forward. You’ll support the full product lifecycle—from early development through launch, performance tracking, and end-of-life planning—while also contributing to broader team initiatives and process improvements.
Your ability to build strong relationships, think analytically, and communicate clearly will help ensure product plans are executed with quality and impact.

Position Location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of our Deerfield, IL office. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness, and recreation.
What You Will Be Doing
• Support the strategy and direction of assigned product lines to meet customer needs and business goals.
• Work with manufacturing, sourcing, and engineering teams to identify and develop new product ideas.
• Manage product development through the stage-gate process to ensure on-time, high-quality launches.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing to bring products to market and ensure strong customer alignment.
• Track product performance and support lifecycle planning, including updates and discontinuations.
• Use customer insights and market research to guide product improvements and priorities.
• Support pricing decisions and help manage product profitability.
• Collaborate on the creation of packaging, sales tools, and marketing materials.
• Stay connected with Sales teams to align on priorities and customer needs.
• Ensure product content is ready for digital and eCommerce platforms.
• Train internal teams and partners on product features and market trends.
• Contribute to projects and planning efforts that support the broader team.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product management (hard goods or CPG) and marketing working with large big box retailers.
• Experience supporting the development and launch of new products through a stage-gate process.
• Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional partners and contributing to shared solutions.
• Strong analytical and communication skills to support inclusive decision-making and clear storytelling.
• Proficient with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SAP or similar systems.
• Willingness & ability to travel up to 25%, primarily to customer locations or industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA or advanced degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
• Experience in both B2C and B2B environments.
• Background in building products, durable goods, or home improvement industries.
• Experience with connected products or smart technologies.

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $90,000 USD - $143,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
