Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: The Product Marketing Lead is responsible for building, executing and optimizing the marketing of Les Schwab products and services aimed at improving the customer experience across the multi-channel customer journey (online, telephone, and in store). “Products” under this definition encompass not just our core tire product line, but other products and services available for sale at Les Schwab stores, as well as the unique elements of our retail offering designed to provide competitive differentiation. Examples of these non-traditional “products” could include our credit program or appointment booking system.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
35% - Works with the Director - Customer Experience to develop marketing plans designed to grow sales within chosen product or services categories. Works with cross functional teams on implementation. Delegates and regularly reviews assignments with Product Marketing Specialist.
30% - Involved throughout all stages of each product category’s marketing approach, including management of support and timelines for gathering business requirements, prioritization, and incorporation into owned, earned, and paid media plans. Articulates product features and benefits based on customer needs. Recommends features and enhancements to plans as needed. Serves as an expert on the customer purchasing path for products and services in store and LesSchwab.com, including but not limited to tires, wheels, sales kiosks, credit and appointments.
20% - Provides support for organizational and customer readiness including IDS, product strategy, training and communication, store operations and other marketing team members related to customer experience enhancements or changes driven by product marketing plans.
15% - Drives development of analytics and reports to analyze and manage KPIs tied to each product category’s marketing plan.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Educational/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business preferred, plus a minimum of 5 years prior product or category marketing experience, preferably in an aftermarket automotive setting, preferably within the tire industry, either with a tire retailer or manufacturer.
Required Technical Skills/Knowledge:
• 3-5 years of product management or strategy experience required
• Ability to perform a variety of complicated tasks, such as planning, requirements prioritization, project management, implementation support, user acceptance testing and will have the ability to build strong relationships with functional peers, as well as with store operations management throughout the organization.
• Strong analytical skills and experience providing insights/regular report generation
• Ability to take general requirements and develop execution plan to deliver required projects
• Working knowledge of content management and ecommerce platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud a plus.
• Proficient in standard Microsoft and/or Google office applications, including spreadsheet, documents and presentation software
General Knowledge and Abilities:
• Self starter; ability to work without direct supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to set and meet multiple deadlines
• Strong customer orientation
• Well-organized, detail oriented, focus on accuracy
• Outstanding communication skills capable of articulating a compelling vision for a product and driving it to successful execution.
