Role description
Retail and Merchandising Coordinator (Regular, Part-Time) Museum Stores Reporting to the Senior Manager of Retail and Merchandising, the Retail and Merchandising Coordinator provides support to the Museum Stores team, contributing to the successful daily operations of retail activities. This role supports the store’s leadership by handling record-keeping, vendor communication, inventory coordination, and clerical tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about art, culture, and customer service. Responsibilities • Provides general office support to the Museum Stores team. • Process and file invoices, receipts, and other financial documents in coordination with the finance department. • Generates daily, monthly, quarterly, and EOY sales and inventory reports and supports store metric analysis by running reports for the managers as needed using the store’s POS and inventory systems. • Maintains organized digital and physical filing systems for departmental documents. • Supports the coordination of store events, product launches, or seasonal promotions. • Responds to internal and external inquiries related to the Museum Stores in a professional and timely manner and supports e-commerce sites, online retail, and wholesale orders as the primary customer contact for online-related inquiries, and demonstrates excellent customer service skills via phone and e-mail. • Assists with day-to-day e-commerce site maintenance and content changes, including ongoing marketing email plans, customer/member discount schedules, finance issues, apps as needed, banner changes, and category updates. • Assists with product creation on e-commerce sites and ensures the accuracy of all product information/content on these sites, working closely with product buyers and coordinating product photography. • Supports inventory accuracy for all locations, including product weights for shipping cost compliance with budgets, and assists with periodic inventory audits and reconciliations. • Provides direction for web fulfillment daily, working closely with store staff as needed. This includes providing instructions for orders that require special handling, assisting with fulfillment, and coordinating the final shipment of orders with the mailroom. • Will be cross-trained in other areas of retail operations, including store coverage, as needed. • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. Benefits • The expected hourly rate for this Los Angeles, CA based position is $21.00- $22.00, subject to change. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred. • 2+ years of experience, preferably in a retail, museum, or nonprofit environment. • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with POS or inventory systems is a plus. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with professionalism and discretion.
