Position Summary
We’re hiring a Retail Planning Manager to lead merchandise planning and inventory strategy across our fast-growing eCommerce business, with a future-forward focus on supporting omnichannel expansion. This individual will play a key role in optimizing inventory, maximizing profitability, and helping shape our retail readiness by building the tools, reports, and processes that will scale with us. This role will also support assortment planning and product performance analysis, partnering closely with design, marketing, operations, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
· Planning & Inventory Ownership
· Develop and manage seasonal and annual merchandise financial plans including sales, margin, markdowns, receipts, and inventory flow.
· Build demand forecasts and in-season reforecasts based on historical data, new product performance, and marketing initiatives.
· Own and optimize open-to-buy (OTB) planning, managing inventory health across all categories and SKUs.
Reporting & Analytics
· Analyze sales, inventory, and margin performance by product, category, and channel.
· Create and maintain planning tools, dashboards, and business reports to support decision-making.
· Present performance summaries and forward-looking recommendations to leadership.
Merchandising Support
· Partner with the design team and founder to plan seasonal assortments and support product strategy.
· Conduct SKU productivity, color/size performance, and pricing analysis to inform future buys.
· Recommend inventory adjustments, reorders, or markdown strategies based on sales trends.
Omnichannel Growth Readiness
· Develop planning frameworks and inventory processes that will support future brick-and-mortar retail.
· Collaborate with operations to prepare for retail fulfillment, store-level assortment planning, and demand modeling.
· Help shape the inventory and planning infrastructure needed to scale into physical locations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with teams across design, marketing, operations, and finance to align inventory strategy with brand goals and campaigns.
· Serve as the planning subject-matter expert and thought partner to leadership.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, or a related field.
· 5–7 years of experience in merchandise planning, demand planning, or inventory management—preferably within apparel, accessories, or consumer products.
· Experience in omnichannel retail (e.g., DTC eCommerce, brick-and-mortar, or retail launch planning).
· Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency; experience with planning or ERP systems is a plus.
· Deep understanding of retail math, forecasting, product lifecycle management, and inventory turn.
· Excellent communicator with a collaborative approach and the ability to influence across teams.
· Comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced, high-growth environment where you’ll build as you go.
