Job Summary: The Senior Content Editor is a key member of the Content team, responsible for managing, publishing, and auditing content across digital platforms (web and app). This role also supports with planning the content calendar, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of onsite copy, product descriptions, and translations. The role holder will play a central part in content optimization through analytics, while deputizing for the Content Manager as needed. Key Responsibilities: Content Planning & Management • Support the Content Manager in leading weekly content planning meetings and step in during their absence. • Maintain and update the content calendar, ensuring visibility of upcoming stories across homepage (web and app), landing pages, newsletters, app notifications, and sponsored social collections. • Gather content suggestions from internal stakeholders, including Arabic content, and propose additions to the calendar. • Brief content tasks using JIRA and ensure smooth task flow and progress tracking. Content Publishing & Auditing • Publish homepage and landing page content across web and app platforms, including applying custom HTML when needed. • Ensure all linked products are live prior to publishing. • Log and report bugs to the development team; escalate issues to the Content Manager when necessary. • Maintain an audit log of content publish dates and identify opportunities for refreshing outdated or underperforming content. Reporting & Optimization • Analyze key content performance metrics including CTR, time on page, bounce rate, scroll depth, and heatmaps. • Provide actionable insights and support the manager in suggesting A/B tests to optimize content experience. • Collaborate with the Development team to brief and implement content and tool improvements based on test results. Copywriting & Translations • Assist with product description writing and Arabic/English translation support. • Write and translate engaging copy for homepages, landing pages, newsletters, and SMO assets. • Ensure timely submission of copy and translations from all contributors within the team. Technical Competencies: • Proficiency in CMS platforms and publishing tools. • Basic knowledge of HTML and ability to work within web content environments. • Strong understanding of content performance metrics and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hotjar). • Familiarity with JIRA or similar task/project management tools. • Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills in English; Arabic is a strong advantage. • Strong planning, coordination, and multitasking ability Educational Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field. Experience: • 5+ years of experience in digital content publishing and editing, preferably in a retail or e-commerce setting. Proven track record of managing content calendars, writing copy, and using analytics to drive content decisions.
