About The Role
We are seeking a strategic and analytical Senior Manager, Digital Merchandising Strategy & Analytics to optimize The RealReal’s end-to-end digital experience. This role focuses on site performance, discoverability, and customer journey optimization - ensuring our digital platforms are efficient, engaging, and conversion-driven. You’ll work cross-functionally with attribution, product, and tech teams to ensure data accuracy, improve user flows, and enhance the luxury shopping and selling experience.
What You Get To Do Every Day
• Optimize and maintain TRR’s shopping, selling, and overall digital experience with a focus on Taxonomy / Navigation, Internal Search, and Customer Journeys.
• Own and report on key site performance metrics weekly, including conversion rate (CVR), average order value (AOV), site orders, and full-funnel KPIs.
• Use data to identify and prioritize optimization opportunities that reduce customer friction and increase engagement and conversion across the funnel.
• Oversee Content Management System (CMS) operations, content builds, and improve content scalability and performance by leveraging deep knowledge of CMS capabilities, User Experience (UX), and testing best practices.
• Lead the Site Production process, identifying and addressing CMS limitations, and proposing enhancements that improve speed, relevance, and efficiency.
• Lead ongoing competitive audits to identify market whitespace and inform site strategy with high-ROI opportunities.
• Collaborate with Product, Tech, and Business Strategy & Analytics (BSA) teams to shape the Customer Experience Roadmap and ensure initiatives align to business priorities.
• Partner with attribution and analytics teams to ensure enriched, accurate data is flowing through the site and powering relevant experiences.
• Read and report out on test results, aligning with BSA and Tech on upfront goals
• Collaborate with SEO and marketing teams to drive quality traffic and ensure on-site structures support organic performance.
What You Bring To The Role
Minimum Requirements:
• 7+ years of experience in digital strategy, or ecommerce site optimization ideally in a luxury, fashion, or retail environment.
• Strong fluency in web analytics tools (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Looker) and a deep understanding of customer funnels and digital KPIs.
• Proven experience managing site structure elements like taxonomy, search logic, and navigation design for improved discoverability.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), UX best practices, and technical constraints/opportunities in building scalable content.
• Strong collaboration skills and experience partnering with Product & Tech and Marketing to build and iterate digital experiences.
• Excellent communication, and presentation skills — with the ability to translate complex data into strategic narratives for all levels.
• Experience managing and mentoring direct reports and building high-functioning teams.
