About the Role You are the brain and backbone of our paid media performance. This role is a hybrid of hands-on media buying, team leadership, and strategic client advisory. You’ll oversee all paid media execution across Meta, Google, and other platforms—while leaning heavily into paid social (Meta) as your core expertise. You will lead a team of two internal FTEs and several contractors, drive ROI across accounts, and serve as the go-to expert for media strategy in client conversations. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Execution • Own full-funnel paid media strategy and deployment for client accounts across Meta, Google, YouTube, TikTok, and other emerging channels. • Lead campaign planning, build, optimization, and budget management across platforms. • Use data to continuously analyze performance and drive decision-making that improves Contribution Margin. • Identify trends, formulate hypotheses, and run multivariate tests to improve creative and audience performance. • Translate performance insights into clear, actionable strategy for both internal teams and clients. Client Leadership • Serve as a strategic advisor and main point of contact for paid media with key clients. • Clearly communicate strategy, performance, and insights to clients on a weekly/monthly basis. • Proactively bring recommendations to clients, backed by data and trends. Team Management & Leadership • Lead and mentor a small but growing team of paid media specialists (FTEs + contractors). • Review work, provide feedback, and create SOPs/playbooks to ensure high-quality execution across all media efforts. • Foster a culture of performance, testing, and continuous learning within the team. Cross-functional Collaboration • Work closely with account managers, creative, and analytics teams to align paid media with broader marketing objectives. • Guide creative direction based on performance data—partner with design/copy teams to brief and refine ad assets. Who You Are • You’re a media buyer first, strategist second. You know what works because you’ve done the work at scale. • You’re obsessed with results and driven by performance metrics. • You love solving puzzles with data, not gut feelings. • You know how to “dumb it down” or “nerd it up” when talking to clients or team members. • You can lead a call with a CMO, audit an ad account, launch a winning campaign, and coach a junior buyer, all in the same day. Requirements • 4+ years of experience in performance media buying, with a heavy focus on Meta (Facebook/Instagram). • Proven ability to manage millions in media spend across multiple clients. • Deep understanding of eCommerce Incrementality and KPIs including Contribution Margin, CAC, LTV:CAC, ROAS. Hyper familiar with daily and weekly incrementality and incrementality testing. • Strong working knowledge of paid social platforms (Meta), with additional experience in Google Ads, TikTok, and YouTube preferred. • Client-facing experience: able to present insights, manage expectations, and build trusted relationships. • Agency experience is strongly preferred. • Leadership experience: you've managed teams, reviewed work, and developed processes. • Proficient in Google Sheets, project management tools, and analytics platforms (GA4, Northbeam, Triple Whale, etc.). • Comfortable managing multiple accounts in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. What Success Looks Like First 90 Days • Take over 4–6 client accounts, including full ownership of campaign strategy and performance. • Establish yourself as the point of contact for all things paid media—internally and externally. • Audit current media workflows and help improve SOPs for optimization, testing, and reporting. • Begin mentoring team members and driving better outcomes across accounts. Ongoing • Consistently hit or exceed client performance goals. • Build a high-performing, scalable paid media function within the agency. • Provide strategic leadership and continuous innovation in media buying. • Be known internally and externally as the person who gets results.
