Senior Payments Operations Analyst
Location: Remote (US preferred)
Type: Full-time
About the Role
Weβre hiring a Senior Payments Operations Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, youβll be the go-to person for analyzing client transaction data and delivering insights that drive revenue growth for our clients. Youβll work directly with our CEO, CPO and cross-functional teams to uncover trends, flag anomalies, and identify opportunities for optimization across gateways, BINs and merchant configurations.
Your work will directly inform how our clients improve their payment stack performance and reduce revenue leakage.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Analyze and interpret large volumes of transaction data from multiple sources, platforms and different client nuances.
β’ Collaborate with the CEO to produce clear, actionable insights for clients.
β’ Identify trends in approval/decline patterns and suggest improvements in gateway and BIN-level routing strategies.
β’ Detect anomalies in transaction datasets that could indicate fraud, MID or gateway configuration issues, or operational gaps.
β’ Conduct ad hoc analyses to support client strategies, internal dashboards, and product decisions.
β’ Help maintain dashboards and reporting tools for ongoing performance monitoring.
Requirements
β’ 3+ years of experience in payments, or data analytics (ideally in fintech, ecommerce, or SaaS).
β’ Proficiency in Python and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
β’ Strong data storytelling skills β able to translate numbers into business insights.
β’ Experience working with or analyzing transaction-level payments data (e.g., card authorization rates, chargebacks, gateway logs).
β’ Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
β’ Comfort working directly with leadership and clients.
Nice to Have
β’ Experience with payment processors, gateways, or PSPs.
β’ Knowledge of fraud detection, MID management, or merchant routing strategies.
β’ Familiarity with data tools like MongoDB, or Snowflake.
