Role description
About Us At Trade, we believe anyone can make great coffee at home—when they have the right beans, tools, and guidance. So we’ve curated over 450 coffees from 60+ of the best small-batch roasters across the U.S., and we match every customer to their perfect roast through a simple quiz and personalized experience. With over 9 million bags shipped to date, we’re now scaling up to become the go-to destination for the $14B at-home coffee market—and we’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape the future. The Role Trade is reimagining how people discover and enjoy their daily coffee—and we’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to elevate and own key moments across our digital journey. You’ll design intuitive, elegant experiences that span from homepage to subscription flows, one-time purchase paths, AI interfaces, and everything in between. You’ll bring clarity to complexity, helping customers find and enjoy the right coffee—while collaborating deeply with Product, Engineering, and our Creative Director as we evolve how the Trade brand shows up across every touchpoint. This role blends user-centered design strategy with refined visual craft. You’ll move fluidly between systems thinking and hands-on execution, bringing thoughtful, brand-aligned experiences to life. You love solving real problems for users—and you know that great design is equal parts logic and magic. Key Responsibilities: • Lead UX/UI design for our core digital surfaces—including homepage, subscription flows, and product pages • Translate user insights, business goals, and brand principles into clean, usable, high-conversion interfaces • Create wireframes, prototypes, and polished visuals that bring clarity to complex workflows • Collaborate closely with PMs and engineers to bring designs to life with care and precision • Partner with the Creative Director to bring our evolving brand identity into the digital space • Collaborate with Product lead to set up and conduct user testing to support both generative (discovery) and evaluative (validation) research • Use research, experimentation, and performance data to inform design decisions • Contribute to—and help evolve—our design system to ensure consistency across experiences • Bring structure, intentionality, and momentum to the design process You Have: • 6+ years of experience designing digital products, with a portfolio that shows deep craft, clear systems thinking, and user-first execution • Proven experience designing for eCommerce or subscription platforms, ideally across web, mobile web and mobile app • Mastery of design tools like Figma, plus prototyping and handoff workflows • Strong interaction design and visual design skills, with a sharp eye for detail • A strategic mindset—you can zoom out to see the whole journey and zoom in to finesse the details • Experience collaborating cross-functionally and presenting ideas with clarity and confidence • A comfort with fast-moving teams and ambiguous problem spaces—you bring structure where needed Nice to Have: • Experience working within or alongside brand teams to translate identity into interface • Familiarity with AI interfaces, personalization systems, or conversion optimization • Background in lifestyle, food & beverage, or subscription services • A love of coffee—or a curiosity to learn Office Guidelines While we operate in a hybrid-first environment, the office is open and available for all Monday through Friday. Team members are expected to spend at least three days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in-office each week. Our goal is to foster collaboration, connection, and transparency, and we know from experience the important role that in-person time plays in this effort. As part of the Trade team, you’ll get… To be involved in building a growing and profitable company with an experienced leadership team and a mission-driven and values-based culture that permeates everything we do. • An opportunity to grow, learn, and leave your mark on our growing organization. • Mentorship from the CFO and an experienced leadership team. • $500 a year to spend on amazing coffee! • Competitive salary and unlimited vacation. • Best-in-class health benefits and 401K. • 11 paid holidays annually. Trade is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Salary ranges are determined through alignment with market data. Base salary is determined by a number of factors including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills.
