Role description
As a Sr. Site Merchandiser, you will be responsible for developing data-driven site merchandising strategies and overseeing successful on-site execution. You’ll need excellent communication and influencing skills, a passion for data and analytics, and the ability to work collaboratively with teams across the business. You will bring together product, data, and design to create a best in class shopping experience. This role will be responsible for 1-2 direct reports and will report directly to the Director of E-commerce. Responsibilities: • Own end-to-end site merchandising strategy from product setup and categorization to launch timing, onsite story telling, and post launch performance • Act as a leader and liaison between creative, design, product development, marketing, buyers and technology to execute site plan and changes for daily site maintenance and seasonal assortment launches • Lead direct reports in their execution of daily site maintenance, including management of skus, navigation hierarchy, internal processes, QA of live site, and answering inquiries from internal partners as it relates to products live on site • Oversee site readiness for each launch, including QA of product details, copy, imagery, promotions, sequencing, tagging, and PDP optimization • Owning and upholding integrity of merchandising strategy across owned category pages by conducting frequent audits ensuring priority products are given high exposure and assortment is properly categorized across the site. (accountability for a best in class search and merchandising experience that prioritizes assortment initiatives) • Partners closely with buying and planning teams to remain aligned on assortment initiatives including new arrivals, markdowns, and deactivations • Execute content strategy in partnership with the Director of E-Commerce and marketing teams ensuring alignment between merchandising, brand storytelling, and campaign goals • Leverage site search, filters, and sort logic to improve product discoverability • Analyze sales data and web analytics to provide insight and suggestions for the presentation of product, overall site functionality, and end-to-end product tools, including selling order, seasonal reporting, year-over-year analysis, site navigation, cross-marketing opportunities, and process improvements • Conduct regular site audits to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in site structure, navigation, site taxonomy, content, and overall user experience • Document processes and contribute to the optimization of internal workflows, ensuring efficiency and scalability • Serve as the eCommerce representative in various cross-functional projects, bringing industry knowledge and contributing to the scaling of business processes • Model and teach the core values of our company and set the tone for the team as a mentor and advocate Requirements: • Minimum of 5 years' experience in eCommerce fashion retail site merchandising with a high sku count and fast product life cycle with Shopify Plus. Ideally 2-3 years experience with direct reports • Strong product intuition, you understand what sells, how to position it, and how to tell a story through merchandising • Deep understanding of Shopify Plus, including product setup, collections, and merchandising tools • Data-savvy and fluent in tools like Algolia (or similar search/merchandising tools), Asana, GA4, Shopify, Excel/Google sheets, Looker or similar to extract insights and drive performance • Experience managing product launches at scale, including pre-launch planning and cross-functional coordination • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, every tag, swatch, and variant matters • Skilled in building and iterating on product pages, landing pages, and category navigation for conversion • Organized, proactive, and energized by a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment • Proactive, effective time management skills, strong written and verbal communication skills • A self-starter with the ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills and effective problem solver • You're energized by data and are always looking to uncover insights to develop new ideas, test hypotheses, and make key recommendations
