VENDORS โ€“ DO NOT CONTACT US IN ANY WAY TO PITCH YOUR SERVICES OR YOUR BENCH Overview The SEO Specialist will support the Senior SEO & SEM Manager in executing search engine optimization strategies to improve rankings, increase organic traffic, and enhance site visibility. The role involves hands-on technical SEO, content optimization, keyword research, competitor analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across all digital touchpoints. This contract role follows a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence in Ventura, CA 3 days per week, with remote work on Mondays and alternating Fridays. Type: Contract, hybrid Schedule: Regular business hours Duration: 4 months expected Pay: $36- $40/hr, paid weekly, benefits eligible SEO Specialist Requirements โ€ข Proficiency in Google Search Console, Google Ads Keyword Planner, and keyword tracking tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz. โ€ข Strong understanding of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO best practices. โ€ข Experience with schema markup, HTML, and meta data optimization. โ€ข Skilled in Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics 4, and other analytics platforms to interpret organic traffic patterns, site pathing, and engagement metrics. โ€ข Ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations for content, UX, and development teams. โ€ข Experience creating and briefing SEO-optimized content aligned with keyword strategy. โ€ข Familiarity with content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress, or Shopify. โ€ข Ability to document SEO requirements and create tickets in JIRA or similar project management tools. โ€ข Experience with QA and UAT processes to identify SEO issues before launch. โ€ข Competitor SERP audit skills, with the ability to adapt strategies to industry changes. โ€ข Knowledge of emerging SEO trends, AI in search, and evolving algorithms. โ€ข Proven ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, web development, UX, and merchandising teams. โ€ข Strong communication skills to present SEO recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences. โ€ข Experience in eCommerce or retail brand environments preferred. SEO Specialist Duties โ€ข Conduct continuous keyword research and analyze keyword trends, page performance, and ranking progress. โ€ข Monitor user behavior, onsite traffic pathing, and cross-channel search entry patterns across major search engines and social/AI platforms. โ€ข Collaborate with third-party agencies to research and define technical SEO requirements; create and manage tech tickets in JIRA; and prepare SEO-focused content briefs. โ€ข Audit staging environments before launch to ensure SEO requirements are met, documenting and resolving discrepancies. โ€ข Provide ongoing SEO inputs for site taxonomy files and seasonal updates. โ€ข Partner with merchandising and web teams to perform category audits, recommend URL structures, and optimize seasonal product pages. โ€ข Define SEO asset needs for product and brand launches, including copy blocks, metadata, and article content. โ€ข Stay up to date on industry changes, document program impacts, and analyze competitor SERP strategies. โ€ข Interpret analytics data to generate actionable recommendations for content, UX, and development teams. โ€ข Support seasonal and ongoing SEO-driven initiatives in collaboration with marketing, merchandising, and web development teams.
