The Software Engineer (L3) will lead the development of backend solutions within the Commerce Contracts and Catalog Platform teams, focusing on enhancing product catalog capabilities and ensuring seamless sales operations. Responsibilities: β€’ Design and implement scalable and robust backend services using Java, Scala, and Python. β€’ Collaborate with product managers and architects during the product discovery phase to align technical solutions with business needs. β€’ Lead the API design and architecture to improve system integration and performance. β€’ Manage cloud-based services and infrastructure to ensure high availability and fault tolerance. β€’ Optimize database interactions and data storage solutions for high throughput and efficiency. β€’ Handle the processing and analysis of over 1 billion transactions daily. Qualifications: Required: β€’ Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, or similar. β€’ Strong understanding of API development frameworks, system architecture, and frontend and backend development. β€’ Experience with distributed cloud services, microservices architecture, and cloud infrastructure. β€’ Familiarity with DevOps principles and infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. β€’ Knowledge of API gateway technologies and message brokers (e.g., Kafka) for building scalable, event-driven systems. β€’ Experience with REST APIs or GraphQL. β€’ Knowledge of modern automated testing and CI/CD pipelines using Buildkite or Jenkins. β€’ Solid knowledge of database management and data-driven application development. β€’ Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines. β€’ Strong communication skills and experience interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a remote work environment. Preferred: β€’ 4-6 years of proven experience in Java, Python in a Production environment. β€’ Experience with high-volume e-commerce systems. β€’ Familiarity with handling large-scale data (processing and storage). β€’ Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
