This role offers the opportunity to take a hands-on leadership position within a fast-growing eCommerce environment. The Sr. eCommerce Engineer will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining a high-performing Magento-based platform while collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will contribute directly through coding, system architecture, and problem-solving, while mentoring and supporting other developers. This position blends technical expertise with leadership, ensuring solutions are both practical and scalable. The role is fully remote, allowing flexibility while maintaining high engagement with internal teams. You will play a critical role in advancing the company's eCommerce strategy, improving customer experiences, and driving measurable results.
Accountabilities
In this role, you will:
• Lead the development and execution of eCommerce solutions on Magento 2.x and related technologies
• Configure and manage multi-site setups, custom modules, payment gateways, and third-party integrations
• Oversee software development processes including Git workflows, pull request management, code reviews, and production deployments
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain eCommerce platform performance and functionality
• Collaborate with internal teams, nearshore/offshore developers, and analysts to implement technical solutions and ensure business alignment
• Mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and guiding best practices
• Document system designs, processes, and new feature implementations
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, development tools, and eCommerce trends
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with proven leadership in development projects
• Hands-on expertise with Magento 2, Adobe Commerce Cloud, Fastly CDN, Stripe, Celigo, NetSuite, and related technologies
• Strong proficiency in PHP 8.3+, CSS, MySQL, AWS, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience managing and optimizing complex eCommerce systems and integrations
• Collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams of developers, analysts, and stakeholders
• Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and modern software development workflows
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate fast-paced environments
