About the Role:This Designer works within the Merchandising and Design Teams to collaboratively drive work that is unique, fresh and on trend to grow our brand, producing work efficiently and consistency. Being an excellent partner and collaborator is a must. This role requires an organized multitasker, the ability to hit the ground running, and an eye to always improve. This role supports the Creative Director and Merchandising team by delivering thoughtful, inspired product designs to elevate the aesthetic of the Shutterfly brand. This is an individual contributor position within the Merchandising Design team. Reports to the Creative Director, Merchandising Design. Primary Duties And Responsibilities • Design and illustrate original artwork for a wide range of custom products (stationery, accessories, home goods, books and calendars). • Translate creative briefs into innovative visual concepts that resonate with our target audience. • Maintain consistency across design assets while pushing creative boundaries. • Prepare digital product mockups and presentations for review with Merchandising team. • Stay up-to-date with design trends, techniques, and tools to continuously elevate our product offerings. • Collaborate closely with ecommerce and UX/Product peers to provide web-ready art files to ensure all work is customizable for the customer experience on Shutterfly web and app.. • Work comfortably with greater Shutterfly Brand, Marketing, Channel and Merchandise Partners • Can bring ideas to life via sketches and art direction, in addition to design. • Consistently ask insightful questions to gain detail, clarification, and alignment. • Confidently present ideas and concepts to Creative Director and internal clients (Marketing & Business Partners) with a spirit of collaboration. • Show professionalism in all aspects of your daily tasks, including taking feedback and edits with grace and positivity. • Have a mindset to continuously improve asset management and simplify workflows. Minimum Requirements • Required education, experience, and eligibility qualifications— • 5+ years’ experience illustration, graphic design, or product design. • Strong portfolio showcasing custom product designs and original illustrations. • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or other design tools. • Excellent understanding of color theory, typography, and composition. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Experience with print production and file preparation. • Passion for storytelling through design and a keen eye for detail. • Retail/eCommerce experience • Track record with loved brands. • Preferred education, experience, and eligibility qualifications— • Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Graphic Arts, Advertising or Fine Arts highly preferred, but will accept additional experience in lieu of formal education. • In-house Design team experience preferred. The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The base pay ranges included below are specific to the locations listed, and may not be applicable to other locations. California : [$78,000-$110,750] Connecticut and New York: [$78,00-$101,250] Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota and Washington: [$78,00-$93,750] Nevada: [$73,250-$101,250] Maryland and New Jersey: [$84,250-101,250] Hawaii : [$73,250 – $88250] This position may be eligible for a bonus incentive, health benefits, a 401K program, and other employee perks.
