Role description
Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY: The Digital and Experience Development team is focused on driving product strategies to evolve and enhance the Guest experience across Universal Parks & Resorts. As a Product Manager, the primary function of this role will be to manage new capabilities across the entire product lifecycle, from product strategy, planning, definition, delivery, and implementation. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership β€’ Encourage an innovative culture that fosters "outside the box" thinking β€’ Drive the vision of the team in support of business needs β€’ Understand and track key trends and innovations, continuously looking for opportunitites to advance the product portfolio β€’ Act as product expert both internally and externally, providing learning opportunities to other Team Members and attending external industry events β€’ Provide leadership, management, and coaching β€’ Establish standards and best practices to maximize team performance and company advancement β€’ Develop growth plans and foster individual and professional growth β€’ Keep key stakeholders updated on product roadmap developments and advancements β€’ Manage issues, risks, and escalations as needed to support the product team β€’ Work closely with IT and other internal organizations to ensure alignment β€’ Contribute to the success of the larger team by driving joint collaboration, visioning, and planning β€’ Provide other Team Members with support in continued growth opportunities through shared product experiences β€’ Participate and drive formal mentorship opportunities to help other Team Members improve their product skills Product Planning β€’ Establish the product roadmap and coordinate with key partners to manage product delivery and implementation timelines β€’ Partner with other Digital Product Managers to ensure product dependencies and integration points are considered during roadmap and release planning β€’ Establish product backlog priorities for release and sprint planning, considering new capabilities, minor enhancements, and defect fixes Product Strategy β€’ Proactively evaluate Guest experience strengths and pain points from all perspectives, to identify opportunities for new and/or improved experience delivery capabilities β€’ Develop and frame up product recommendations with associated cost, value and experience analysis, to gain approval and funding for development β€’ Collaborate and liaise with key business partners to establish product goals and objectives β€’ Ensure product alignment with the holistic experience transformation vision Product Definition β€’ Partner with the UXUI team to establish experience interactions and designs based on high level feature requirements β€’ Drive detailed product Feature definition, including functional and non-functional requirements β€’ Support product implementation across the domestic sites, capturing site specific functional requirements in partnership with on-site stakeholders Product Delivery β€’ Facilitate product backlog grooming with the Delivery scrum team β€’ Define and document product user stories to enable technical design, development, and testing β€’ Participate in scrum team Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily-stand ups, and retrospectives Product Implementation and Support β€’ Perform product validation throughout the development cycle, to ensure alignment with functional requirements. β€’ Maintain close partnership with Business Transformation to ensure that product functionality aligns with Operational and Business capabilities. β€’ Represent and support the product as the ongoing subject matter expert. β€’ Develop an ongoing approach for measuring the success of newly implemented experience enhancements, to enable well-informed future product planning Additional Responsibilities β€’ Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. β€’ Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION: β€’ Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) required - Business, Technology, Digital Marketing, or Industrial Engineering preferred; β€’ Master’s degree preferred. EXPERIENCE: β€’ 9+ years in Product Management, Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, Digital Experience Design, Industrial Engineering, Technology, or related fields. β€’ People Management β€’ Including goal setting, escalation handling, and mentorship β€’ Managing the digital experience for a consumer website and/or mobile app β€’ Experience with large scale transformation initiatives β€’ Demonstrated ability to define and execute strategic initiatives β€’ Working in an agile technology delivery program β€’ Defining a customer journey and digital product roadmap β€’ Product backlog management, including Feature definition, requirements, prioritization and sprint planning β€’ Close partnership with a Technology Delivery team β€’ Stakeholder engagement and relationship building β€’ Executive communication, with the ability to influence decision making β€’ Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills, and be able to explain complex concepts both concisely and simply β€’ Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
