Role description
The Sr. National Account Manager, Amazon - Batteries is a critical frontline leadership role. This role holds a unique position assigned both strategic and tactical responsibilities.
We are looking for an individual who can build a commercial digital strategy to win with Amazon.com and Amazon.ca, execute the tactics, while coaching and leading a team beyond the category they are directly responsible for.
This role develops Digital Commercial programs, internal and external relationships, and processes that drive sales, margin, and share for Amazon US and Amazon Canada. This role requires a self-starter who enjoys the daily challenge of continuously earning category leadership.
This role leads our National Account Managers over the Amazon Automotive Category and Lights Category (2 direct reports) and reports to our Digital Economy Sr. Director.
This business primarily sells on Amazon via 1P, (Vendor Central) and is developing a 3P business (Seller Central).
UNIVERSAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develop Category-specific customer strategy and manage Customer relationships
β’ Acquire an understanding of customer needs for the category and identify the organizational competencies and requirements to win
β’ Develop and execute annual business plans that achieve and stretch customer & Energizer goals / objectives
β’ Serve as the customerβs primary point of contact for the category and develop relationships at every level
Define and drive Amazon customer category-specific business objectives
β’ Develop Amazon-specific category strategies, business plans, and goals; identify growth opportunities based on an understanding of the Amazon platform
β’ Build a partnership with category Vendor Managers and attend key meetings as an Amazon and Energizer expert
β’ Design and deploy best practices for the Battery Category regarding Media, Merchandising, Promotions, and Test & Learns, optimizing with a βPlan, Do, Check, Actβ process
β’ Collaborate with Digital Media Lead, Insights Lead, and Content Lead to design and deliver best-in-class digital shelf presence
β’ Collaborate with Finance and Pricing & Revenue Management colleagues to deliver a balanced Customer P&L
β’ Manage all customer contracts, trade fund management, and promotion ROI analysis
Execute across the value chain to deliver customer strategy and achieve objectives
β’ Lead the Amazon Battery Customer Team and foster productive relationships with cross functional stakeholders
β’ Lead the Amazon North America Sales Team
β’ Manage Customer assortment and pricing; communicate regularly with Commercial and Marketing teams to manage channel conflict / ensure alignment
β’ Collaborate with Digital Media Lead to execute efficient and effective and Consideration and Conversion campaigns
β’ Own customer support for the category, including logistics, order processing and fulfillment; coordinate with Integrated Supply Chain colleagues to forecast demand and ensure ability to fulfill obligations
β’ Communicate marketplace and competitive knowledge regularly with stakeholders to recommend optimizations and share learnings
β’ Grow Amazon Share, Sales, and Margin faster than the Category
Develop annual eCommerce category business plans and targets; gain Customer Team alignment and support
Utilize Amazon Retail Analytics, Category data, and Digital Media data to manage platform performance, including retail price movements and competitive dynamics
Manage item catalog, including item level management, new item setup, product detail page optimization
Define and lead successful Annual Vendor Negotiation process
Manage travel and expense budget
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
β’ Bachelorβs degree or related work experience
β’ 7-10 years related work experience
β’ Amazon.com sales and marketing experience required β demonstrated track record of leading successful Amazon Businesses
β’ Ability to understand Customer P&L / business levers, manage trade funds, and drive toward KPIs
β’ Ability to balance Customer, Consumer, and Shareholder perspectives at the same time
β’ Positive attitude and ability to receive and provide coaching / feedback
β’ Ability to intelligently & respectfully challenge convention, influence decisions, and drive change
