Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We're seeking a seasoned Product Manager for a hybrid opportunity in San Jose, CA. This is contract project opportunity through the end of 2025 + chance to extend.
In this role, you will support the content and browsing experience for a major e-commerce platform, helping drive organic traffic from search engines to enhance discoverability and engagement across product and content pages. You'll play a key role in defining and executing SEO strategies that align with user experience goals and business objectives. The position is hybrid, with in-office work required Tuesday through Thursday and remote work on Monday and Friday.
Responsibilities:
• Develop positioning and messaging strategies to support product visibility and business impact.
• Monitor performance, competitor trends, and search algorithm updates to inform ongoing strategy.
• Act as a thought leader across product and SEO disciplines, influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
• Define and drive product strategy and roadmap for SEO-focused initiatives, aligning with business and user experience goals.
• Own the structure and content strategy for product and browsing surfaces, ensuring pages are optimized to meet user needs and search behavior.
• Partner cross-functionally with UX, design, engineering, and analytics to create and implement content experiences that are SEO-driven and conversion-optimized.
• Deliver and maintain product requirements documentation with prioritized features and clear justification.
• Lead beta and pilot programs to test content and SEO performance enhancements.
Product Manager Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on user experience and content-led strategies.
• Proven experience working in UX-driven and design-led organizations.
• Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals and strategies to drive organic search traffic.
• Experience working on customer-facing web experiences, particularly browsing and product page types.
• Skilled in user research, consumer journey mapping, and content architecture.
• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Strong communication, documentation, and project planning skills.
• Experience working for large-scale e-commerce or digital commerce platforms (preferred).
• Familiarity with Google Shopping or comparable feed-driven search experiences (preferred).
• Background in industries such as investment banking or other data-driven, analytical environments (preferred).
• Prior experience at leading tech companies or online marketplaces (preferred).
• Experience returning to or previously working at a major e-commerce brand (preferred).
• Exposure to platforms with global search and shopping integrations (preferred).
