This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive the development and evolution of a global e-commerce platform for growing families. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling systems that support a seamless shopping and registry experience. Collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering peers, you will address complex technical challenges while improving platform architecture, development tooling, and operational efficiency. This position provides both technical leadership and hands-on engineering responsibilities, with the chance to influence long-term product direction. Accountabilities
β’ Collaborate with product owners and design teams to implement new features for registry, Shop, Cart, and Checkout experiences
β’ Provide technical leadership within the Commerce team, setting high standards for architecture, code quality, and best practices
β’ Identify systemic bottlenecks and implement improvements to platform architecture and development processes
β’ Maintain and enhance existing systems, including test coverage, code optimization, and reducing technical debt
β’ Mentor engineers, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture
β’ Propose new product initiatives based on technical insights and platform capabilities
β’ Ensure development practices incorporate AI-augmented tooling to improve productivity and innovation
Requirements
β’ 8+ years of experience in full-stack software development
β’ Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and React
β’ Proven experience in system design, monolithic architecture, and scaling e-commerce platforms
β’ Familiarity with AI developer tooling and AI-augmented development practices
β’ Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
β’ Experience translating complex non-technical requirements into precise technical implementations
β’ Passion for mentoring and elevating engineering teams
β’ Ability to work effectively in a remote-first, cross-functional team environment
